Always great to get the warning that major construction is going to start on the day of. Guess I'm not going to get the chance to sound proof after all.
I have a list on my blog of authors who sell direct: www.bearmountainbooks.com/home/authors... Leave a comment with a link to your store(s) and I'll add you to the list. I share the list periodically with my newsletter and blog readers. Feel free to share with yours!
Sounds great! You can get my ebooks and paperbacks here: scrappaperentertainment.com
A good thread with more info on the D2D situation.
And also a good time for authors to consider setting up some kind of direct channel for their books. Having to leave platforms and move every time something like this happens is a hassle and you could be doing better things with your time.
I'll miss the distribution to libraries, but I can't do enough marketing to get enough return on non-Amazon platforms at this time. I'll be looking into alternative avenues, but it will take some time given the chronic fatigue and all that.
Guess I need to take a few days off of writing to deal with this Draft2Digital nonsense. At least I already have a way for readers to get my books directly!

Finally taking product photos after making these a year ago.
Some day I am going to give up on trying to get some of these programs working on Linux and just open up Windows. Not today, but some day.
Always nice when those skills I picked up as a YouTuber come in handy.
I think I'm going to have to kill this character. Oh no.... #writersky
There is something so frustrating with knowing a rollator will qualify me for disability supports, but my shopping cart with a fold down chair attachment is far more useful for me day to day.

I've written a lot of books! Enough that I made a quiz to help you figure out where to start!

Photo of a tablet with two cover mock-ups on them. On the left is a blue cover with orange line art, a blue stripe in the middle over the art, and the word TITLE in the stripe. On the right is blue line art that looks vaguely like an upside down flower with the text TITLE BUT A LONG ONE on it.
Starting to think about the cover, but I still have no idea what to call any of these books. #writersky
For the last day of Long Covid Awareness month, I'll share my activity tracker one more time for anyone struggling to figure out how to manage their energy.

I'll gladly second those recommendations! It was such a fun read.
Things have been getting back to normal, which means I have been unable to focus on just one project at a time
Long covid is bad enough without also having to deal with the people out there preying on the chronically ill. Especially the newly chronically ill who want their lives back.
The best thing I ever did for myself as a chronically ill person was develop acceptance for where I was at. It sucks to be in this body, but being okay with it has calmed the nervous system and made sure I wasn't desperate for a cure.
Once an event I tabled at there would always be a guy who would block my table from interested people, tell me at length about his book, and never show any interest in anything I wrote.
This happened EVERY TIME.
I spent far too long today explaining my theory that milk is an ingredient, not a food.
Best place to purchase a book is directly from the author if they have that set up.

Anyone else have a bunch of stories they've trunked because they have no idea how to tell them? Like, the problem is that you can't figure out the format more than the story itself? #writersky
I really need to start drawing if I keep having all of these ideas that involve art assets.
I miss being able to remain upright for more than a few minutes.

Another rough week, but at least we can go out in the sun again! #caturday
