That's all I've ever heard of it being with and it's such a wildly proliferating root it feels like there should be...more options... Not that I don't like roast beef, but *gestures at cost*

This is my only real concept of horseradish, and I only know of eating that with roast beef, and whilst I'm not against it, it's not...a regular habit of mine XD Maybe it should be?!

I certainly have enough to try this! Suggestions for how to consume it?

I would like to choose neither, oh my goodness! /o\

I lived in the Before Times when many workers got a small office w/ a door that closed. For focus, that was perfect. Now we're farmed into shared florescent office stables (that research has repeatedly demonstrated diminish "efficiency" & output). I am 100% more focused at home for every task. #wfh

Feels kinda silly to say that rich people from the center to left of things politically can’t build a successful media environment when the onion is doing it basically using donations from semi-employed forum goblins

...it was horseradish, you were right. Now I see why you're not allowed to grow it "uncontained"! So...any ideas what to do with a LOT of horseradish?! This photo is just the start, I think I got about 10kg out of the ground so far and there's absolutely more to come... #allotmenttales

"Associated with the topic of leadership, possible anxieties on the part of mainstream managers about a loss of control of the outcomes of Third Space activity for which they are responsible." This is a thing I've worked through this post two years: it's extremely interesting and bears researching!

I've been rewatching old DVDs of Drop the Dead Donkey lately, the 90s sitcom set in a news room with topical jokes that were written just before recording (which happened the same week that Channel 4 aired it) and they started making Mandelson jokes about this stuff in *1998*.

Hi. This is embarrassing and stressful, but I am at risk of eviction. So I am requesting aid. I have been unable to find work and am now three months behind on rent and six on utilities. I would be grateful for any assistance or sharing. Thank you for considering. Peace. ko-fi.com/bywilliamjme...

There are MOTHS in my FLEECE again, I am so exhausted, the last house was already riddled with them when we moved in and I cannot face any more of them here. Back to the freezer with everything, and out comes the cedar oil...

I know this is not the point you are making - I've been on this site a while so, apologies for being That Comment, but I must, must say - there are colleagues, peers, cogs in the system with you all who see and take enormous heart from your work. I know it gets you nothing tangible but, we're here.

Opinion: There is no free-speech right to a university platform The UK government’s bill to tackle university cancel culture would give it unacceptable powers to control academic debate and student protest, says Professor George Letsas (UCL Laws).

As a PhD researcher, as someone who actually cares a lot about my research and academic freedom, I find this all so deeply, deeply tedious.

The actual threats to academic freedom are coming from defunding our universities – as anyone actually in the sector can tell you.

I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again

This was the only thing that made me wonder because I've dug through a lot of root and not noticed that, but perhaps have just been too much at arm's length!

Thank you so much, all - P has done some further looking up based on everyone's comments and thinks it probably is horseradish, in which case it'll have to come up because that's what's spread and is doing all the bloody roots everywhere, and it's not permitted unless contained! #allotmenttales

Oh as "it's getting chilly" books go, I really don't think one can do any better...

I have not! Do dock roots have a particular scent? I've only ever known it as a weed (or at least, wild) so probably why I didn't think it might be that.

2 days ago 1 0 1 0

I always thought I could recognise dock, but quite possibly not XD I will try and get a less sunlit picture...
