This principle of play and inquiry is something that truly motivates me in what I do 🔬 Science is a method, a way of scrutinizing the world. We shouldn’t take it too seriously; it is a discipline, but it is also playful. 🍄✨

What are people's views on genetic contributions to differential responses to psychedelics e.g., psilocybin specifically?

Like how Schrödinger proposed that genes are like an "aperiodic crystal"—a stable yet complex molecule capable of encoding vast amounts of information, could the same inspiration apply to consciousness and the brain?

Can you think of a really good description of the psychedelic experience that resonates with the idea of brain activity becoming entropic/ disordered/ chaotic under the drug?

🍄 +57% lifespan in mice cells
🧬 Preserved telomeres
🧯 Reduced oxidative stress
🐭 80% survival in aged mice (vs 50%)
🐾 Better fur, less gray hair
🧪 Boosted SIRT1, protected DNA

Been digging this: Plotinus and the One. In the Enneads, Plotinus describes how: "The One" (or "The Good") is the ultimate source of all reality,
and from it, all things emanate — first Nous (Divine Mind), then Psyche (World Soul), and so on. The “multiplicity flows from an original unity” vibe. 🌀

Important study by Leor Roseman, which became even more relevant in recent years.
