The Conservatives haven't managed to stand a full slate of candidates in Oldham but, in fairness, their usual candidates have swapped their ties for a lighter shade of blue.
Vote Reform, get Tory.
For real hope and real change, vote Green!

Our membership has grown considerably recently so we will be doing more open events and meetings when the election period is over.
If you're a member you should receive emails with action days, events, and updates. If you're not receiving those you can send a private message with your details and I'll try to resolve that for you.
There are currently some campaign related events listed on the website: oldham.greenparty.org.uk
If there's anything I can help with here, please let me know.
I'm sorry you haven't had a response to your email, we receive a lot so it may have been missed. If you send a follow up email, I will ask that it's looked into. We've been prioritising the platforms that have the most reach and interactions, and Bluesky is relatively new and still has fewer users.
The Oldham Green Party statement on the King Street Building collapse:
We wish those hurt in the incident a speedy recovery and expect a proper investigation into the causes. If any wrongdoing or negligence is discovered, those responsible must be held to account to prevent future disasters.
Hi there, we're mostly active on Instagram and Facebook at the moment. We are active locally, engaging in projects, and campaigning in this local election so if you're interested in voter or volunteering, feel free to reach out!
Dear @lucympowell.bsky.social,
I have enjoyed our exchange of letters about which of our parties is best placed to stop Reform. Hannah Spencer MP and I trust that you agree that this question has now been resolved once and for all.
Thanks,
Zack Polanski
Image shows a Christmas tree with the message "Merry Christmas! As we celebrate, we remember that this season is about warmth, kindness, and community. Let's make sure everyone in our borough feels that spirit. A thought for those who are cold, hungry, or lonely this winter, and a commitment to looking after each other." From the Oldham Green Party, Real Ho-ho-hope, Real Change.
Merry Christmas to all from the Oldham Green Party!

This morning Green MPs attended a critical briefing on the climate and nature crisis.
Climate breakdown threatens our food supply, health and national security but an alternative future is still possible.

💚 Congratulations to John Knight on being elected in Macclesfield Central Ward!
We bow our heads for the millions who served, suffered, and fell during the First World War and in conflicts since.
We remember not just the glory, but the mud, the terror, and the profound, often pointless, suffering. We remember the families shattered and the futures stolen.
Our remembrance is a pledge to see the humanity in one another, to challenge the call to arms, and to strive for a world where such pity is no longer necessary.
Lest we forget.

How can we take on the far-right, unite our communities, find hope, and undo the damage of fifty years of neoliberalism?
The recording of our talk and Q&A - 'Help us take on the far-right' - is on YouTube.

My thoughts are with all affected by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and Cuba, and with their loved ones, including countless British families.
With climate breakdown advancing, storms like this will only become more frequent. We must act urgently to prevent further catastrophes.
Hope & Progress vs. Hate & Regression. The choice is ours!

If this ban is lifted, it will be sacrificing public safety for political favour.

Meanwhile, the Islamophobic smears against our local MP are a disgraceful attempt to distract from the real issue. Our focus must remain on condemning violence and hatred in all its forms, without resorting to bigotry.
Barring these individuals is a public safety measure. To claim it's an affront to UK Jews is not only wrong, but as the IHRA definition notes, it's itself a form of antisemitism. It holds all Jews collectively responsible for the actions of a violent few.
The conflation of the Israeli state with Jewish people worldwide is a dangerous tactic. We're now seeing it used to defend a known group of violent football hooligans from Maccabi Tel Aviv, who have a history of causing disruption and spreading racist abuse in European cities.
We should be talking about the statistics, published by Shelter, showing UK child poverty and homelessness are at the highest levels since records began.
Instead, the government and media are performatively complaining about a decision to ban Israeli football hooligans from an Aston Villa match.
We stand with the Jewish community and everyone affected by the horrific attack at the synagogue in Manchester today.
Zack Polanski: “We've seen rising antisemitism for years, as well as rising hate crime more generally. This is about civil society, democracy, and bringing people together.”
Such violence is the inevitable endpoint of rhetoric that promotes racial/cultural purity and the dangerous conflation of British Jews with the actions of the Israeli government.
In the face of such events, we must redouble our efforts to stand united against all forms of hatred and extremism.
While the motive is not yet confirmed, it is crucial to reaffirm that hatred and racial or religious bigotry have no place in our society.
We are saddened and appalled by the violent attack at the Heaton Park Synagogue, and our thoughts are with all those affected, the Jewish community, and the emergency services responding to the incident.
