My photo collage shows four hippo statuettes made of Egytian blue faience, a ceramic material made of ground quartz. Their bright-blue shiny bodies are decorated in black with depictions of Nile river plants such as water weed and lotus flowers. This decoration depicts their marsh habitat as well as having various layers of symbolism associated with regeneration. For example lotus flowers open in the morning and close at night, symbolising rebirth. Blue faience hippos have been found in Middle Kingdom tombs of high ranking officials. It’s thought they were placed in the tombs to aid the rebirth of the deceased. Hippo top left - Walking hippo shown in profile facing right. Height 11.5 cm, Length 21 cm. Egyptian Museum, Cairo. Top right - Roaring hippo (looks like the hippo is smiling), seated, with head at left and turned inwards to front. Height 7.5 cm, length 12.5 cm. Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Copenhagen. Bottom left - Standing hippo in profile facing right. This hippo is part of the Met Museum’s collections and is popularly known as ‘William’. Height 11.2 cm, Length 20 cm Bottom Right - Reclining hippo with head on the right, facing front, and tilted down. Egyptian Museum, Cairo

I wonder if that Trilogy might lead to the 20th anniversary in 2028. Three dates this year, three dates next year and then Trilogy 3. Pure speculation from my side, tho.
Poster labelled SHINee World VIII 'the trilogy 1'
And 'Trilogy: 1' implies there will be more!!!!!
My photo is taken from 3/4 profile to give a slightly better view of the lovely naturalistic detail of the horses face with garnet inlaid eye and darker stained muzzle. It also shows the small opening between the horse’s forelegs where lightweight strands would have been attached to the handle, perhaps horsehair for use as a fly-whisk

My photo shows an ivory handle of a light whip or fly whisk carved in the shape of a horse. The ivory body of the horse is stained reddish-brown, and the mane and tail are black. The horse is seen in profile facing left. Its legs are outstretched in front and at the back in a ‘flying gallop’ position, with a gracefully arched back. The eyes are inlaid with garnet, one of which is missing (not seen in my photo). This beautiful object is dated to the New Kingdom period, Dynasty 18, reign of reign of Amenhotep III, c. 1390–1352 BC. Dimensions: L. 14.7 × H. 5.5 × W. 2 cm
Wonderful ancient artistry!
Some 3,400 years ago, an Egyptian artisan captured a sense of speed and elegance in this beautifully carved whip handle in the shape of a horse!

My photo shows a Roman fresco of a brown rabbit with long ears, curled on the ground, with a rounded, soft-looking body. Its head is lowered as if nibbling at three figs placed in front of it. The figs are small and round with short stems, painted in dark reddish and bluish tones. From Pompeii. Now on display at the National Archaeological Museum in Naples.
Here’s a charming Roman fresco of a little rabbit eating figs 🐰❤️

My photo shows a museum display with colourful Minoan pottery cups arranged on three clear shelves, one above the other. These cups, known as Kamares Ware, are from Phaistos, Crete. They were made in palace workshops, c. 1800-1700 BC. The cups range in shape and size from conic and cylindrical cups (top and middle shelves) to hemispherical and carinated shaped cups (bottom shelf). They are decorated with multi-coloured geometric motifs; with spirals and swirls painted in red and white pigment on black.
Sipping my coffee ☕️ and thinking about these marvellous Minoan cups!
They look so modern it’s incredible to think they were made during the Bronze Age some 3,800 years ago!

In 2013 Aaron Swartz committed suicide for facing 35 years in prison for mass downloading scientific articles.
13 years later, Meta is almost getting away with an infraction orders of magnitude larger.
The law didn't change.

NEW: South Carolina, which doesn’t require hospitals to disclose measles-related admissions, has reported only 20 such hospitalizations since Oct. 2.
That leaves doctors with an incomplete picture of how the outbreak is affecting the community.
