Up to a point; but from what I have seen, they tend to observe the letter rather than the spirit of the law.

My editorial approach has always been pretty simple:
1. Is this a good research question?
2. Has an appropriate method been used to answer it?
And that is about it.
'Reflection, she adds, is increasingly rare in modern health-care systems; the casualty is doctors' "humanity, all of the things that propelled them into medicine in the first place"'.

In support of your claim, OED gives first use to mean "A list of things that a person hopes to experience or achieve during his or her lifetime" as 2006, citing a promotional article on the film's production on UPI Newswire (Nexis) dated 29 June, 2006. www.oed.com/dictionary/b...
The greatest happiness was achieved by the greatest number.
If there's any indication that the email took 10 years to write, maybe.
Interesting, but I'm not convinced: www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

Also excellent use of MRI for the cover art. It is perfect.
"Champagne elation and planetary subjugation" sounds a little like an Oasis lyric.
Photo suggests it might be Lynchian.
Should psychiatrists think more about physical pain?
That's the lead item in this week's Thought Formation.
Also featured: #mentalhealth & firearm injury; AI & the placebo effect; and the strange, dark life of the inventor of the EEG.

Ah, the Canute manoeuvre.
Ah yes, I seem to remember one of those being kicked off by a mailout for a course on rationalising use of email.
I went to a Marvel movie a few days after seeing 'Phantom Thread', found myself getting bored, and realised I had reached the point in life at which couturiers are more interesting than superheroes.
Too late to change the setting to Christmas in Australia, I assume.
This week's Thought Formation: psychotherapy, nostalgia, the stomach-brain connection, and specific phobias.
Includes one of the greatest sentences I've read in the medical literature: "Men may have a more cavalier attitude to vomiting than women."

Text: What’s the best cure for depression? Ryan, County Armagh It’s tempting to give you a funny response to this, but depression ain’t funny — I’ve suffered from it. What I did, and what I recommend you do, is talk to your GP about it. Personally, I’m on a low dose of an antidepressant called Zoloft (sertraline), and it does the job. You hear a lot of people say that antidepressants just put a sticking plaster on the problem, instead of solving the cause. They may have a point, but it’s easy to say that if you ain’t depressed. The big problem for me with antidepressants is that they affected my sex life. Trying to get down to some action these days is like trying to raise the Titanic. I suppose it would be depressing if I weren’t on antidepressants. As it is, I can live with it.
“Depression ain’t funny.”
Wasn’t aware of this until the Sunday Times reprinted it. Ozzy Osbourne’s advice to a reader with depression. Rarely seen someone talking about #mentalhealth and the pros/cons of antidepressants with such an amazing combination of empathy, clarity, frankness, and humour.

Finally saw ‘The Phoenician Scheme’, and I think that over the past 30 years, Wes Anderson’s output has gone from ‘Rushmore’ to the kind of films Max from ‘Rushmore’ would make.

Maybe so, but please turn this idea into a novel.
That’s the thing that struck me about ‘Flow’: how it’s totally free of postmodern wisecrackery (I know there’s no dialogue, of course, but I mean more in terms of the film’s tone and attitude).
I saw it on the big screen last year, and the run down the Eiffel Tower was *overwhelming*.
What's holding back drug repurposing in mental health? That's the big question in this week's Thought Formation.
Plus: the long shadow of 9/11, rethinking schizophrenia, and worrying figures on the mental health of medical students.

Text: “Turn up the heat on summer styling with our serotonin-inspired collection, starring all the new-season looks that are coming in hot to a wardrobe near you.”
Not entirely sure what this means, but it’s definitely the first time I’ve seen a fashion collection inspired by a neurotransmitter.
