Panel 6: a thinner, long distance cutaway of episode 7 jayce right after he climbed out of the ravine, looking up to stare inside mage viktor's shadowy cloak. He seems like an imposing figure. Narration says; Jayce has never kept a secret from you before. now he does. the mere thought of that stranger touching him is enough to burn you up inside. Next panel- a shot of only Jayce’s legs, focusing on his complex brace. narration asks; is he to blame for the broken leg? the scars? for the six months you spent thinking jayce was dead? in the last panel, there is an isolated flashback of viktor in his commune, surrounded by a field of swaying flowers and his own solitude, nothing else.

Singed's hand holds up a purple shimmer vial, casting neon lights over Viktor's gaunt face. Narration reads: I was supposed to be a rational man. Panel 7, black. Thought continues: To desire nothing. to be self-sufficient. Leave the world better than I found it. Panel 8: a close up shot of Viktor's naked body, runes carved onto his chest and arms. he bleeds purple shimmer. text reads, like a mantra: jayce will understand. Panel 9, at last, breaks the bounds of the others to make the whole end of the page a dark ink splotch. viktor stands alone in the middle of it, head bowed in shame. He hesitates in speaking, simply saying “I…” and pausing. The narration ends the thought in his head; but I desired more.
