Here's what the Wangari newsletter on Substack had to say about this post: "In this lyrical meditation from Water-philic, Lynn Broaddus invites us to rediscover water not just as a resource, but as the foundational molecule of life itself...."

This got my attention: "The company’s chief executive, told the Wall Street Journal in March that Bayer is closing in on a decision to halt sales to farmers. “We’re pretty much reaching the end of the road ... We’re talking months, not years.”
Could it be true?

#Pittsylvania County is facing another proposed fossil fuel project. The #Transco Power Express from The Williams Companies would supply Virginia's growing energy demand with dirty methane gas.

My recommendation for your summer reading list - "Sea of Grass", a romance with the prairie ... and its rivers, wetlands, bison, farmers. open.substack.com/pub/lynnbroa.... (And if you're on Substack, let's find each other there.) @randomhouse.bsky.social
You know summer is just around the corner when you can enjoy a pre-dinner hour in the garden with a gin and tonic at hand.
It's always a treat to talk with folks at #Orenco. I hope you'll find time to take a listen - it's probably better for your health than listening to the news on your drive home! #Water #CircularWaterEconomy #CWE

Sad. So sad.
I just canceled our Amazon Prime membership, and we're going to be okay.
It seems so trivial, but it feels good and at least we've got another $14.99/month. Gonna need it the way things are going.
You can't hide from climate change or from CO2 emissions.
California isn't the only place where the feds are dumping water, intentionally or not. Just heard about Rio Grande incident through

Rachel's nightly broadcasts these first 100 days are what keeps me going. If you're having trouble facing the day, consider starting it with the podcast of last night's show. It works for me! pca.st/episode/d4eb... @maddow.msnbc.com
i think an important thing for people outside the US to understand is that elon musk seized control of the government today and most americans don’t even realize it happened.
“Every drop belongs to someone,” said Kaweah River Watermaster Victor Hernandez. “The reservoir may belong to the federal government, but the #water is ours. If someone’s playing political games with this water, it’s wrong.”

NEW: It appears people are signing up Trump's DEI snitch email to, well, everything. Bunch of NGOs said the address appeared on their distros. Other folks say they're sending it porn, the Bee Movie script, and tales of unqualified white employees

Bucket list addition: Eat pawpaw. Twice in the last 2 days the subject of has come up, first from a Potomac River paddling guide, and just now on a re-read of Ross Gay's "The Book of Delights". I'm realizing I've seen pawpaw trees but never tasted the elusive fruit. That needs to change.
