A digital illustration of 4 students in school uniform around a table in a classroom. The girl on the right is pointing on a part of an open book, seemingly teaching her fellow students something. The boy on her helf is sitting, looking confused with his hands on his head. Next to him on his left is a girl with a skeptical expression, hands on her hips also looking at the open book. The last student, a boy on the leftmost part has his arms crossed and is also looking at the open book.

Mockup book cover with the title "The Treasure of Itzel". It shows two kids facing the reader in a forest setting. The kid in the front, with an "Indiana Jones" hat, is climbing over some stone columns covered in moss and looks super excited. While the kid in the back has a baseball cap and glasses, they are looking more cautious. The stones have carved signs and symbols, including a skull.

4. Remember: Your purpose isn't what you do. It's how you touch others through what you do.
Here’s to opening a new Artist Origin Story series.
To be continued.

3. I’ve stayed committed to the journey of storytelling—a promise I made to myself to inspire and serve others with my talents.
That purpose shines through my illustrations and the books I write, which are now ready to take their place in the world.
2. Through drawing and storytelling, I found strength, healing, and a completely new beginning. What started as small handcrafted textile dolls blossomed into an international art licensing brand: MARUSHA BELLE®.
1. My story began where many stories could have ended.
Fresh out of my MFA in Fashion Design,
I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma—a moment that changed everything.
In the midst of pain and uncertainty, while fighting the illness, I turned inward.
I imagined the story I truly wanted to live.

1. Throwback to 2014, when I visited Lisbon and instantly fell in love with it.
During that trip, I created a few sketches inspired by this beautiful city.
In February 2015, I uploaded ready artwork to sell online, and later that year, when I moved to Lisbon, I was shocked to see my art everywhere!
It’s a pretty deep subject, isn’t it? I could talk about it for hours or write a book. There’s will be more posts on this.
Thank you!
Titles illustrated by me on the photos:
Migraine and Mia by @ (Warren Publishing),
Pin by Coraline Green (HarperCollins),
and Wangari Maathai from the Super People series (Doodoo Stories).
It took me years to embrace the new identity as a writer and illustrator.
I knew the artist, but the writer was always waiting. Then, I realized: Nobody will give me permission to be who I want to become. Only I can do that.
I could talk about this for hours!
However, here are my top five.

A digital illustration of a family baking in the kitchen. A young boy is focused on reading the recipe book while pouring milk into a bowl. His mother on his left, is also looking at the recipe book whilst holding a carton of milk. And his baby sister on his right, is in the act of scooping out the batter from the bowl and is about to eat it.
