The comforts of April.
Odesa…
This is indescribably beautiful.
a A photo of a little spot near the forest. There are tree branches hanging on the left and right with a couple trees between them. There are grasses in the front. The photo is pale on purpose.
“To dwellers in a wood, almost every species of tree has its voice as well as its feature.”

Pity you never did this @floreatsalopia.bsky.social. Despite it's being in your environmental plan.
Apparently this is a common failing among developers countrywide. Councils too cash strapped to enforce. Developers too ready to cut corners.
A hedgehog crawling through a hole in a brick wall at night, under a sign that reads 'Hedgehog highway.' Ivy and dead leaves surround the hedgehog
Small gaps that make a huge difference: this is a hedgehog highway 🦔
Hedgehogs can walk up to two miles a night looking for food or a mate, but their natural highways are blocked by fences and walls. Creating safe corridors from your garden to the one next door lends hedghogs a huge helping hand.
Three of them are Shropshire, one from Cumbria I think!
Aren't they cheering?

Rehabilitation of the Dandelion!
No other plant in the Netherlands attracts as many bee species: 107. In early spring, when nothing else is blooming, it is simply there. Meadow bird chicks that have just hatched depend on the insects that are drawn to dandelions. No dandelion, no insect, no chick.
They're trying to silence those speaking up. Let's make sure they can't.

A green lane with bluebells on either side
Who would have thought my shriveled heart
Could have recovered greenness? It was gone
Quite underground; as flowers depart
To see their mother-root, when they have blown
Therapeutic duckling for you.

A Robin perched on a branch, its beak full of food and other material.
To reduce disease, we all need to make some urgent but simple changes to how we feed our garden birds.

This week Israel murdered another Palestinian journalist in Gaza
This was Hind Khoudarys damning message to intl journalists last month: "We are being hunted & killed.. while all of you watch in silence.. Israel is killing us one by one, and not just us, our families too.."

Restormal Castle, Lostwithiel for #RomanFortThursday Ignore the beautiful castle, and look beyond the gateway to the fields opposite (above the carpark if you know it). Not much to see, but there once stood a Roman Fort. Heritage Gateway - Results share.google/p2HIl8NokDt1...
That's roughly what I've understood. US and Israel are operating like rogue states.
