The upcoming Anti-Poverty Strategy is a key opportunity to finally eliminate segregated settlements. EU funding, including #ESF+, #ERDF, and the #ChildGuarantee, must be fully mobilised to drive real, lasting change. The tools exist. Now political will is needed.
A 2023 FSG study in Spain confirmed that slum settlements are not accidental, they are the result of structural racism. We need real public policies, sustained investment, and a clear commitment to dismantle these structures. Half of those living in these conditions are under 16.

We participate today at the 2026 EU Anti-Racism Conference in Brussels. It is a pivotal gathering of key stakeholders in the fight against racism, bringing together representatives from EU institutions, Member States, equality bodies, CSOs at EU and national level, and academia.
