I really do like these extra decals on the MG ZZ Ver Ka. Something about the chunky transforming suit just vibes well with the larger decals and labels/text. This is gonna be a longer one for all the decals, but I’ll be worth it!

Gonna be the first time seeing a virtual concert, so I'm pretty excited to see how it goes. Especially since we might be checking out the IRyS concert in Japan this October if we can get tickets.

We're going to see it in a few weeks in New Jersey! Really awesome to hear that it went super well, makes us even more excited to see it.

Well my Turn X is stuck in the postal system somewhere and taking a while but I got my ZZ water slides in so I can start on those. I really like the extras Delpi did for it! They feel appropriate for a large, complex mobile suit. Promo pics, not mine. #gunpla #gundam #plamo #mecha #modelkit #hobby

All things considered the painting for it would be relatively simple - mostly the same colors across different parts, just enjoying adding some cool customization and contrasts to it. Plus I've wanted to build the Turn X for AGES.

But we'll see, definitely doing some spoon tests before anything!

Unfortunately a sudden cold wave and some rain has pushed back plans for breaking out my airbrush for at least another week.

Debating between two more "simple" projects to sort of warm myself up with it, but leaning pretty heavily towards painting my (soon arriving) MG Turn X first.

Wrapped up the build, but couldn’t wait since my water slides won’t get in for a bit longer than expected - so I put it all together.

The articulation is a little lacking, but made up for by the shelf presence. This build definitely turned me around on the ZZ, and I might buy the FA ZZ sometime…

I always gotta love when a non-PG kit comes with the big ol’ chopstick sized PG Beam Saber effects.

Almost done… so far. I’m gonna order a set of Delpi’s and top coat this bad boy because it’s been a true joy to build!

In addition to the second leg, I got the hip joints and side skirts (which connect directly onto the leg in Zeta fashion), as well as the waist unit itself done. I did a bit of testing with the waist units and the way it connects into the upper body and core fighter is so cool!

One thing I just found building the waist that just is really cool. The Core Fighter gets locked into place by not one, not two, but three hard point connections!

Two tabs on the cockpit hatch, a tab on the lower back, and a peg off the waist unit where the backpack also goes.

That’s really cool!

Man the ZZ Ver Ka is proving to be one of the more fun and interesting builds I’ve done in a while. Highly recommend so far if you’ve been thinking about it (or the newly released FA ZZ).

Might change a bit once it’s all together, but loving it so far!

Anyway the design and engineering here is really cool. Like I posted before you actually build the leg parts separate and then slide one up from the bottom to accommodate the eventual transformation.

A small character quirk is because of the specifics of his wish to be “like in the stories,” he’s got… not really medium awareness, but has a natural affinity towards narrative tropes. Not quite breaking the fourth wall like Deadpool or something, but awareness of the patterns of narratives.

Essentially he ran home out of instinct, but when it came time to actually -think- about who his family was, he couldn’t remember. And he couldn’t find the Faerie Circle anymore either. So he set off to be an adventurer and hopefully find a way to return his memory and back to normal.

So he got turned into a magical cat person, but upon returning home - no one from his village recognized him, or laid claim to “missing” their child. And he realized while he knew this was his home village, the specifics of memory of his home and family couldn’t come into focus.

He’s a Tabaxi Wild Magic Sorceror with the Fey-Touched feat.

As a human born child he wandered into the woods (as kids do) and stumbled upon a Faerie Circle, and being a stupid kid, when asked for a wish (or boon or whatever) wishes to be a cool magic hero like in the stories he heard.

I have a cool idea for my back up #dnd character, but I'm hitting a point where my actual character is functionally a tank who's entire schtick is not dying, so I don't know when I'll get to use my backup. First world #TTRPG problems I guess!

This kit seriously has so many really fascinating build and engineering choices in it.
