This Texas Thistle (Cirsium texanum) was but a little plug about 5-6 weeks ago. And look at it now... so much growth in just a few weeks and about to burst into bloom. In the meantime, it became a ladybug nursery. Fantastic!

I love how dainty Carolina Larkspur (Delphinium carolinianum) looks. I hope it thrives and does not get too crowded, because it is such a treat (and I hope to collect seeds in the future).
I see everyone posting about Earth Day. It is good that we celebrate but to me every day should and is Earth Day. I feel it should be everyone's top priority. Anyway... happy Earth Day!

How is your garden doing?

Because a lot of things are shorter in the Tall Pollinator Garden, Cutleaf Daisy has finally a chance to shine.
It seems to be the favorite of wasps, small native bees and flies, while bumble bees are always all over the Mealy Blue Sage.
This is the first year for Common Yarrow but it has grown a lot and has lots of flowers. I love the blooms but I equally enjoy the foliage with its fern-y look.
I really enjoy seeing how the same plants behave differently each year, depending on the weather patterns.
I planted this particular Prairie Parsley over two years ago, but it struggled and never did much of anything... until this year. Look at it now!
It seems as if almost overnight all the Clasping Coneflower started blooming. Most things in the Tall Pollinator are shorter this year, as compared to previous years, most likely due to the dry weather. That is also the case with Clasping Coneflower.
This is apparently a good year for Winecups. Ours were planted last December. They have grown a lot since then and are blooming profusely. The blooms are so vibrant, they really pop in the garden.
I was potting up today, when I saw this baby praying mantis going up the shed. Ant for scale. ๐ And then I noticed an anole but he was too quick for me... So happy to see healthy ecosystem at work.
For instance, if a plant is potentially available in 4" and 1 gal sizes, and you only sign up for the 4" size, you will NOT get notified if they are back in stock but in 1 gal size. It is best to sign up for every size that you potentially are interested in.
If you are looking for something that is out of stock, the easiest and best way to find out when it is back in stock is to go to the product page on our website ecoblossom.com and sign up for Notify me when available.
Sign up for every size that you are considering separately.

I don't go to the back of the Tall Pollinator Garden often as there is no easy access, but I ventured out there today because I needed to pull a few stray sunflowers. To my delight I found dozens of ladybugs in various stages. They were everywhere. Healthy ecosystem at work. So happy!
Looking for native milkweed? I know we are sold out right now but we should have more plugs to have in stock in 4-6 weeks.
Expecting to have Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa), Green Milkweed (Asclepias viridis) and Antelope Horn Milkweed (Asclepias asperula).

you can pick up tomorrow (Sunday) between 12.30pm- 1.15pm. Just choose whichever day shows as available and email me to say you would like to pick up tomorrow.
Sunday pickup notice.
I have just noticed that there is a glitch on the website that causes Sunday (tomorrow) to show as not available for pickup. I am working on having it resolved but in the meantime, as long as you place your order today before 2pm,
Blue Curls deliver a more subdued yet intricate blooms and it is fun to watch the bees buzzing all around them.
Various salvias bring grace, textures and color to the garden, and native pollinators are taking full advantage of them.
I am in awe of nature frequently, and it is a magical feeling.
Penstemons are one of my favorite spring flowers. They dot the landscape with color, while fitting into even the smallest gardens.
It is hard to ignore the joyful display of vibrant colors delivered by spiderworts. It is a true celebration in the garden.
Spring is such a joyful season. Celebratory. Filled with hope, anticipation and renewal. The garden bursts with blooms and growth. Every day brings changes and excitment.
