Title is on top of a yellow background with a megaphone pattern. Title reads: Resistance for all. Text reads: With protests happening more and more each day, it can feel like you aren’t “contributing” if you are unable to make it. We need to ask ourselves, “How else can I show up to care and protect the most vulnerable in our communities?” Whether it’s a result of a disability, being in a high risk group, or whatever other reasons, it does not mean that you cannot resist or that your contributions are lesser. We’d like to offer alternative means of contributing to the movement. These actions can be taken by those protesting, as well. Resistance should be accessible to all. Certain groups of people are more vulnerable to the threat of police violence, arrest, or other means of harm due to how they are already treated by the state. If you belong to the following groups, you are at higher risk when attending a protest: People of color and Indigenous peoples, Trans, nonbinary, and queer people, Muslim people, If you have prior convictions or are on probation, Disabled people, Unhoused people, Undocumented people (especially at ICE protests). Text reads: If you are in a high risk group, you should consider whether attending a protest is worth the risk. Those who do should plan how best to stay safe and take extra precautions. Choosing not to protest to protect yourself is not wrong, it doesn’t reflect poorly on you. There are many alternative forms of resistance you can take. Those at lower risk should take extra steps to protect and care for high risk groups. You have to reflect on how your privilege can be leveraged to keep them safe and encourage others, like you, to do the same. Note that low risk doesn’t mean no risk, but you are more likely to walk away from a protest without serious consequences. We need to make sure that resistance is accessible to all. To help facilitate that, we put together a guide for those who can't protest or are looking different ways to contribute. We must resist. Together.

Today I heard my state of Texas isn't stopping at banning books in schools, they're aiming to ban book sales.

This type of thing needs amplification, because it's clear the media aim to stay quiet about it.

3 of the 4 Gospels command Christians to separate church from state.

Yes Jesus was advocating for secular government.

Why?

The reason is found in the Prodigal Son parable. God wants us to find our way to him via our own volition.

Having state imposed religion makes that immensely more difficult.

The Onion is aggressively on sale.

Subscribing helps us hire comedy writers who get health insurance and even food to eat, with their mouths. That food is converted into energy which allows them to make sentences that make the government sad.

Girding - 1 - First wear a tunic. The tunic won't allow you to do heavy labour or fight in battle necessitating the girding of one's loins
2- Hoist the tunic up so that all the fabric is above yours knees. This will give you mobility.
3 - Gather all the extra material in front of you so that the back of the tunic is snug upon your arse.
4 - Once the excess fabris is gathered to the front pull it underneath and between your legs to the rear.
5 - Gather half of the material in each hand bringing it back around to the front.
6 - Finally tie your two handfuls of material together and you're all set for both battle and hard labour. Go forth and gird up your loins.

As it seems to be The Time again, we should discuss loins and the girding there of. Nothing like having your loins girded in moments of strife and uncertainty and we all know everyone like a good properly girded loin.

Hi, just a reminder that when you use Libro.fm for your audiobooks, you support independent bookshops vs. large corporations that drive them out of business.

We also pay taxes. And so do indie bookshops.

Russia has been planning this coup for a long time. Putin is finally getting his revenge for the USSR's collapse. It was always personal for him. As Nikita Khrushchev said in 1956: “We will take America without firing a shot. We do not have to invade the U.S. We will destroy you from within”.
