It’s been really interesting (and devastating) watching US based news coverage of the fires in LA, comparing it to coverage here in Aus.

One of the most useful uses of tech I’ve seen has been map overlays on live chopper aerial footage so people can see exactly where the fires are in real time.

I’ve been watching a lot of local Los Angeles News. I’ve been hell of critical of our media these days. But these local reporters are doing a superb job. Of course there are exceptions, but generally the coverage has been excellent and appreciated

Opinion | The Tragic Link Between Pregnancy and Homicide For women under 25, getting pregnant more than doubles their risk of homicide.

Bravo to the New York Times for this stunning, harrowing piece of journalism.

There's a lot of talk at the moment about how we can encourage women to have children. Less talk about how getting pregnant can double your risk of your partner murdering you.
