This year, somewhere in the ballpark of 25 million Americans will inhale wildfire smoke — "probably the most toxic type of air pollution [they’re] ever exposed to," Brian Moench, the president at Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment, a nonprofit clean-air advocacy group, told me.

This. N95’s can save lives from wildfire smoke. The scientific evidence of the damage caused by Particulate matter is clear and terrifying.

We are accepting RFPs! We are looking to fund projects that will have a measurable impact in reducing indoor transmission of airborne pathogens. Projects that might be applicable: - detection and screening systems - deploying tools to improve IAQ - ventilation and air quality standards - indoor air infrastructure PHAN logo Terms and conditions apply. Please visit phan.global
March 31st is the last day to submit requests for proposals for projects with measurable results in reducing indoor airborne pathogens. Possible projects include breath-based multi-pathogen detection systems, HVAC compliance verification systems, and indoor air infrastructure deployment.
5. Contact as many political and workforce leaders as I can to request immediate action.

If you'd like to donate to my efforts that's great, if you can't that is understandable, and if you just don't want to I would even appreciate a share.
I kicked off fundraising around 18 months ago to...
1. Raise Awareness for Covid and Long Covid.
2. Provide education assistance to families.
3. Provide advocacy assistance.
4. Advocate for education, mitigation, and air filtration.

Despair (1894), Edvard Munch: A person is standing looking down, they appear sad. They have brown hair, and are wearing a brown sweater. They are leaning on a fence and appear to be on a bridge walkway. There is a group of people in the distance. In the background is a sunset with orange, yellow, and blue colors that is set over dark blue water, with a green hillside lining the waterway. The text reads, “The Sick Times. My child and I both have Long COVID. Even in COVID-aware spaces, we are excluded because of their pre-existing disability. By eZme Fern, aka MadMaskedMxma.”
Medical facilities have handled Long COVID the same way they have the ongoing pandemic: ignore it and hope it goes away. - My child and I both have Long COVID. Even in COVID-aware spaces, we are excluded because of their pre-existing disability.
eZme Fern and their ten-year-old both have #LongCOVID, but they’ve discovered that even in COVID-aware spaces, they're excluded because of their child’s pre-existing disability. They argue that COVID-aware communities must provide safe spaces for generationally disabled families. bit.ly/4sAkobN
Today marks six years of long COVID for me. I knew it wouldn't be weeks or even months trying to wade through a pandemic, that it would be years. I just didn't expect this much anti-science to make it impossible to ever get out of it.

Image: The chart shows infection probabilities (%) [y-axis] at different CO2 concentrations in parts per million (ppm) [x-axis] during an outpatient consultation in which the individuals were talking to each other over a period of 15 minutes, in 3 conditions: neither masked, both masked in surgical masks, both masked in N95 respirator masks Data retrieved from: SARS-CoV-2 airborne infection probability estimated by using indoor carbon dioxide (2023). | CC BY- ND 4.0
This chart from our blog shows how indoor carbon dioxide levels reflect ventilation and infection risk. As CO2 rises, the probability of infection rises during close conversation. High quality respirators and strong ventilation help keep risk much lower.
