Don't think of trauma recovery as just responding to symptoms. It's also-- & more importantly-- about getting clear & realistic about our needs & nurturing our relationship w/ ourselves.
To me real trauma recovery is about life development & goal achievement, not just "coping."

Yes: it is robustly unfair that the work of trauma recovery is on survivors. Be angry about it. I am.
And also: do not let the unfairness of it trick you into not working your recovery because you "shouldn't have to."
That's a trap I fell into repeatedly. Do not recommend.

Paradoxically, many CPTSD survivors have a relatively easier time handling painful feelings than we do neutral or positive ones. Negative feelings, we get. They make sense to our wounded self-esteem & worldview. But excitement, joy, peace? Ohhhh, f*ck that. Sounds like a trap.
I tried it, I used the fixing spray in 2 ways; sprayed on the button when it was finished and before it was made just on the paper. both seems to be okay. I will see, when it rains~ ôзô
I have a button maker for children - so it's not ✨ high quality ✨ but it's fine. ....almost. the last time I made buttons I pinned them on my backpack and after some time and some raining they were very smeared. now I want to make new ones but with using fixing spray, I hope it will work o3o

Stop & give yourself credit for a sec. Yes, the situation might be a sh*t show, but that's not the real story. The real story is you've managed to navigate the sh*t show & are alive to read this. No, it's not perfect, & there's still recovery work to be done. But you're doing it.
The last thing a survivor struggling w/ trauma responses needs is a lecture on how nonsensical or self sabotaging their trauma responses are. We don't experience them because we think they're awesome & a good idea. They happen TO us.
Trauma responses are not "choices."
