Our framework for quantifying #biradical character can resolve disputes in the literature about the biradical character of #S2N2 and #ozone. We hope this article will foster a more intuitive chemical understanding of biradical(oid)s.
Very happy to share our latest paper in #ChemEurJ 🥳
We've analyzed the electronic structure of small inorganic singlet #biradicaloids and propose to describe the chemical bonding using single π-bonds and single π-antibonds.

Having a good time with the groups of Axel Schulz and @lilianszych.bsky.social at the #EWPC in Dresden. Thanks to Jan Weigand, @muellergroup.bsky.social and all the organisers!
Journals should be open to the public, that’s all.
We strongly suggest that academic publishers and other platforms that host research rapidly implement a Share to Bluesky button for their articles. Here's how:

Had fun this afternoon confirming the beautiful display of turmeric in alcohol under UV light as posted by @compoundchem.com www.compoundchem.com/2016/11/30/t... So simple!
For all the new chemists coming over here to where the sky is blue🤗, we have created a starter pack with professors and labs to follow in chemistry.⚗️
We will soon add a starter pack with non-professoral chemists. Stay tuned - or if you can't wait take a look at our following list 😉

Cover of the journal Angewandte Chemie, showing the formula of a dis-biradical. The formula was arranged from diatoms under a microscope.

Congrats to first author Jan Rosenboom and the whole team.
