A lab setting in which a photo reactor made of LEDs inside hollow metal cylinders, on a white plastic frame shines a strong red light. On top of one of the cylinders there is a photometer with an optic fiber employed to measure the light power. The whole picture has a strong red hue, which in my opinion looks cyberpunk.

An orange Home Depot bucket sits atop a large ceramic-top hotplate stirrer, a teensy vortex seen in the surface suggesting that stirring is somehow happening.
Prepping 2x20kg of an aqueous formulation base when you usually outsource to a kilo-lab is NOT fun! My experience prepping buckets of ceramic glazes certainly came in handy.
You CAN stir 5-gallon buckets on a magnetic stirrer if it’s big enough, but I don’t recommend it.

The cylinder comes with 33 psi of 13CO2 and a big warning label not to open it without a regulator-otherwise you lose your precious gas!

I don't think it was the gas supply as another GC (an online gas analyzer for our hydrotreating pilot plant reactors) using the same cylinders/regulators/purifiers/filters/getters remains unchanged.
So, anyway, time to recalibrate.

Also, retention times have increased, causing my ref check standards to fail.
All of this started ~2/3rds of the way through the run over the weekend.
I think my GC found a fountain of youth and is now running as well as the day it was installed.

The light at the back is shining on a bank of LEDs connected in parallel to provide a very small current but enough to microelectrolyse 0.5M CuCl₂ solution. Electrodes are carbon rods.
Chlorine reacts with KI solution. It turns blue litmus red and bleaches. It,causes starch/iodate paper to turn blue with the formation of iodine
After 10 minutes, litmus paper is almost bleached but slightly red, and the starch/iodate paper is almost white. And now 0.5M KBr has turned slightly yellow with the formation of bromine water.
After 10 minutes, the cathode shows a little copper. A 9V battery would bleach litmus in 2 minutes and show more copper, as the current would be larger.
Electrolysis of 0.5M CuCl₂ solution powered by light! NOT A BATTERY. See, the electrolysis is so slow that the litmus is actually red before bleaching. LED banks are in parallel, better than the previous tweet on this topic.
