Bathrooms don't count as "wet rooms" in Germany because they usually don't have floor drain and the splashing water is (supposed to be) mostly contained to shower/tub/sink

For Germany, the answer is: either in the bathroom or in a laundry room (the latter often as a shared room in apartment buildings or as a utility room which also contains whatever you need for heating and hot water in single family homes)

The horse op-ed is an instant classic. I can't tell you how much joy this piece gives me.

It should be taught in every introductory writing class in no small part because the horse arguments are so compelling. "I have noticed that human children get to eat cake. But I am bigger than the children."

"Halb drei" is definitely a spoken language thing!
There is also viertel drei ("quarter three"=14:15) and dreiviertel drei ("three-quarter three"=14:45), but those are regionally marked and not understood by everyone

The halb-construction is only ever used with the numbers 1-12. When needing to clarify, you can add "morgens", "nachmittags", "abends", "nachts" (morning, afternoon, evening, night)
