He nails it.
New — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) was told this week by DOJ that they'd lose their funding if the org didn't remove any mentions of LGBTQIA+ issues from their public materials, I've learned. Staff were told they need to deadname trans kids in their reports to comply.
I don’t see how #PEPFAR can survive without #USAID. We’re on the verge of 22 million people, including 6 million CHILDREN, losing access to life-saving HIV medications. This is an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in the making.
The entire archive of CDC datasets can be found here.
HUGE shoutout to data archivists- this work is important 👏🙌🏻

One of the biggest public health / #HIV successes of the past several decades being willfully unraveled before our very eyes. The callousness & shortsightedness are astounding.

It’s already begun; institutional leaders should be taking this seriously. Even though it was expected for anyone who read about Project 2025, it’s no less alarming. Pay attention, folks. It’s a *long* way until Nov. 2028.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.
They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.
The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

I’m a chronic disease epidemiologist with two main lines of research:
1) how do we address methodological issues when using EHR data for epi studies.
2) linking social, environmental, and climate data to EHR data to understand how these factors impact health.
Bullying vulnerable queer kids, robbing them of hope for a life free from antagonism, is *evil* & of course it leads to an increase in suicidality. I know of what I speak firsthand. Ideological politics influence public health outcomes. This is our lane. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ #epiSky #statsSky #causalSky #PublicHealth
My collaborator Laura Samuel is looking for a post-doc -- great fit for someone interested in social policy and quant methods (the great team also includes Bonnie Swenor, Sarah Szanton and me):
