He should spend less time talking about raccoon parts and more time working for the American people. @energycommerce.bsky.social

In January, SAMHSA canceled $2 billion in funding for addiction and mental health programs. Sec. Kennedy claims this was a “mistake” and tried to blame the Biden administration. We can’t afford “mistakes” that gamble with people’s lives or attempts to shift blame for poor governing.
The American people deserve leadership that lowers costs and puts them first. #TuesdayTidbit
Did you know that Trump’s approval rating has fallen to a new low? The American people know that Donald Trump isn’t working for them, and they’re making it clear, with 63% of Americans disapproving. Families can barely afford to live, yet his war of choice in Iran is only making things worse.
This 4/20, let’s recommit to fighting for equitable cannabis reform. Access to capital remains one of the biggest barriers to entry & success in the industry. The CLIMB Act will address real-world issues facing the industry & open the sector to more small, minority-owned, & women-owned businesses.
Gun violence has taken so much from our communities. This is a truly devastating tragedy.
I am heartbroken by the news that eight children were killed in a mass shooting in Shreveport today. These were young lives with so much promise, taken far too soon. My prayers are with their families, the people of Shreveport, and all of Louisiana.
Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz means higher prices and higher stakes for American families.
When ego replaces strategy, the world gets dangerous.
You cannot bully your way through global diplomacy and expect stability. The world will respond, and the American people will pay the price.

FISA was meant to monitor foreign threats, not spy on everyday Americans without oversight.
I’m voting NO on this reckless overreach by the Trump administration. We can protect our nation without sacrificing our civil liberties. No spying on citizens without a judicial warrant!
Proud to join @housedemocrats.bsky.social and @ayannapressley.bsky.social in getting this done.
The House passed bipartisan legislation to restore protections for Haitian migrants legally present in the U.S. that Trump is trying to take away.
This is a win for over 350,000 Haitians in our country and for doing what’s right.
Sending people back to a country during a crisis is dangerous and wrong. I’ll vote to protect our Haitian neighbors and ensure they can continue their essential contributions to our communities.
Over 350,000 Haitians in the US are facing the threat of losing TPS. People have built lives here after earthquakes, political instability, & an ongoing humanitarian crisis made return unsafe.
Proud to stand with @ayannapressley.bsky.social as we force a House vote to extend TPS for Haiti.
The promise of America doesn’t live in a slogan. It lives in the Constitution.

For years now, Trump & his political movement have rallied supporters around the slogan “Make America Great Again.” If we want America to remain great, we must defend the constitutional rights, the rule of law and the system of checks and balances that have sustained this nation since its founding.

For decades, AABE has been a driving force in ensuring that African Americans and underrepresented communities are not just participants, but leaders in energy policy, technology, and workforce development.
It was great to join #AABE to kick off their national conference and honor President & CEO Jay Knott with Senator Alsobrooks, former Senator Landrieu, and former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.
Happy 100th birthday to Elder Robert P. Martin, Sr.! He is a beloved member of #LA02, and it was an honor to attend his birthday celebration and honor a century of life, love, and legacy.

The Louisiana Legislature has NO right to remove officials elected by the people. Legislation that seeks to eliminate an office after the people have already spoken at the ballot box is not just misguided. It is a direct affront to the very core of our democracy.
March was a busy month. I introduced bills like the #CLIMBAct and the #MentalHealthWorkforceAct, broke ground on the Algiers swimming pool, and stood up against Trump’s reckless decisions.

Vaccines save lives.
Diseases like polio and measles didn’t disappear on their own, and if we don’t push back against dangerous rhetoric from people like RFK Jr., we risk turning back the clock on public health.
Are you ok? Where have you been my friend??
This isn’t about party, it’s about protecting lives and upholding our responsibility to the American people. We need our Republican colleagues to join us and put a stop to this before it’s too late.
Donald Trump said, “a whole civilization will die tonight.” These are not the words of a leader, yet he is pushing his reckless, unilateral war with Iran further toward catastrophe.
Last week on @talk1073 with @brianhaldane we talked about the ongoing DHS shutdown and House Republicans’ unwillingness to fund the TSA, FEMA, and Coast Guard. This isn’t just about money; it’s about holding ICE accountable.

This is the day that reminds us that darkness never has the final word. The stone was rolled away, hope was restored, and through Christ’s resurrection we are reminded that faith, love, and redemption always rise again.
Let us share His love with one another today and always. 🙏🏾
