Either of the first two Paddingtons, Marcel the Shell, Iron Giant, Brigsby Bear, What We Do in the Shadows, Spiderverse…

He once acknowledged Taiwan’s would-be independence and apologized IN MANDARIN the next day to China (apparently they’re big WWE fans and he’s been learning for years). I’d imagine you can tell where his bread is truly buttered but he’s about pleasing a large audience at the end of the day.
Unless you’re a rich, white, cishet, male, existing in any spaces in the western world will never be truly safe. The world is the weariest it’s ever been in quite some time.
Yeah, we got them and Whitford. Would have been a great time if life wasn’t in the way. Hope I get another shot.
SO JEALOUS! He came to our Richmond convention last year and I missed the boat. All I have is his podcast in the meantime.
Watched the original iteration before they announced we were getting two more seasons and I loved how it all ended up…except for another cancellation. Wish they could have put that effort to making sure everyone was treated well on Spider-verse, but film is a complicated thing.
Apparently the Paul Bettany role was originally Michael K Williams as a “half-mountain lion, half-human” via mocap but he couldn’t come back for reshoots. Would have been nice to have him in the Star Wars universe.
16 out of 24 successful predictions tonight. Pretty sure that’s my record for all time, so I’ll celebrate with Suntory and sleep well. #filmsky #oscars2026
Learned the other day that the lead talked about her/their ace status in an interview. Surprised the top brass like Docter aren’t limiting interview topics if that’s how they really feel.
Really bummed Rian didn’t pull off the trio of screenplay nominations for Blanc. What can you do?
Thought it was a great year for comic book films, but to be fair, I haven’t gotten around to most of the award-nominated stuff for…many reasons.
Sorry if it wasn’t clear; I meant only the box office performance. Iman Vellani is as perfectly cast as RDJ was originally and her scenes with Brie (who I’ve loved since United States of Tara) were phenomenal.
Some movies are more deserving of a billion dollars than others. Shame the sequel wasn’t able to live up to the performance of the original.
Unrelated: did you hear the Scooby Netflix news? Looks like the kids from Holiday Haunt might get a chance to do it in live action instead.
Just got done with my most recent rewatch of West Wing (except for the TB episodes in the last two seasons thanks to latest news). Alda was the most tolerable member of the opposition we could have imagined. Thanks, @kellysue.bsky.social.
I've had a promotional VHS for the test animation that became Batman: The Animated Series for a long time, I bought it on eBay in like...1999? The version they put as a bonus on the DVD said they lost the audio but uh, here it is. You're welcome Bruce Timm.
I’m sure they’d both enjoy fighting against the tyranny of an evil Superman from another universe.
I met her at MegaCon in Orlando once and she 100% is! Signed a TPB, script, and Batgirl hoodie (for free) for my now-wife that was too anxious to be there in person and took a photo with me.
cannot wait for this guy to fade into obscurity as a has-been
Severance-themed birthday card featuring Adam Scott’s character.
Free slice of vanilla cake from Fresh Market
Strawberry sando (with cream in the style of Japan) from Kroger and Martinelli’s apple-mango cider
Peanut butter pie from Wegman’s (but not the kind my grandmother used to make)
Lobster roll, truffle fries, coleslaw, and apple juice from Burton’s Grill & Bar
Got to have a bunch of tasty food over the weekend to celebrate.
Bill Dunn, Jerry Orbach, Mickey Mantle, Valerie Faris, John Krasinski, Danny Boyle, Kamala Harris, Thomas Newman, Viggo Mortensen, Earl Hindman, Tom Petty, William Zabka, and Dan Fogler.
Today was my birthday. I share it with a few people.
Subscribed to Beasley when you started plugging it but haven’t seen your writing in a bit; hope you pop up again soon. Loving the podcast in the meantime!
screencap from the Harley Quinn show where Alysia Yeoh is driving a car and saying "It really helped me while I was transitioning"
comic panel of Alysia Yeoh with a defiant and happy look on her face she's wearing a sexy looking black leather jacket (with amazing yellow shoulder and sleeve accents), holding a thin bat-style eye mask in one hand and a wooden baseball bat with the trans flag painted on it in the other, while saying: "Please. I'm a trans woman in Gotham. OF COURSE I have a weapon."
Good morning!

"The only real politics I knew was that if a guy liked Hitler, I'd beat the stuffing out of him and that would be it." Jack Kirby - King of Comics A picture of Jack Kirby with a cigar in his mouth
Happy birthday to Jack Kirby.
Three adaptations this year total including Life of Chuck
Someone came from Kansas City MO to my former home county and joined “Moms for Liberty.” She is a horrible person. How do people like this get elected?
And this is why I’ll never not read your content; missing out on a lot from more mainstream sources.
Tudyk is going to have as many DCU roles as he does Disney animated ones before too long if his current pace continues.
Corenswet is Jewish? You’re literally the first person I’ve heard mention that despite it being integral to the character’s origin.
