Last year at the end of July I observed a hornet around an hour after sunset how it fought down, dismantled and carried away the abdomen of a large moth. It wasn't near a light source, but I heard an impressively loud insect fluttering from the top of a bush and it ended like this.

Autumn and winter is owl season. 🦉
The iconic Ural Owl in the Bavarian Forest National Park is the target of our #ecoPi units for live #AcousticMonitoring during their entire breeding season.
