Our government seems to care nothing for nature. ๐

Natural England failing to protect valuable sites. Our report for @wildjustice.bsky.social shows that nearly 2/3 of sites waiting to be designated as SSSIs were under threat from development. One site in Thurrock will be directly destroyed. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
This is why I haven't been on social media much!
I've been horrified by what we found about Natural England pausing designation to SSSIs - and the consequent loss of nationally important sites for nature to development:

We were contacted yesterday, after walkers spotted this young swan trapped behind some stock fencing near Ripon. Our volunteer rescuer attended, and the bird was soon released on to an appropriate stretch of water nearby.
Speaking as one who never misses an opportunity to shoehorn a topic into a post, and as itโs Sky Awareness Week, Iโm sharing (and you may be ahead of me here) a linocut with a sky - for those of us who need to practice their awareness ๐ค

A clearing at Foxley Wood in North Norfolk, covered in a carpet of Bluebells with a narrow path leading through it. Sunshine is coming through the tree canopy overhead.

Good news for anyone outside the UK. I can now send unframed prints to the EU, US and Australia from within those countries. No customs charges, no import surprises. Just prints.

You have bendy elbows, like I do!
Woodpigeon in a basket hooked over the stable wall under the eaves
A row of snapped off fence posts lying on the ground of a paddock
Are we back? Meanwhile, at the yard, Barbara the woodpigeonโs rubbish nest collapsed, as it does EVERY year, spilling her baby squabs, & we were better prepared. And in the night, one of the horses caused chaos, swopping fields & trashing fences & no one was where we left them this morning.
I totally agree.
Childbirth did that to mine! ๐ฌ
Hope youโre recovering well!
Hope you have a great vegan birthday!
