"The Sega Cartridge" gives me strong Spaceballs vibes
Thumbs up for mentioning Z.A.R. ๐
Here are Dave and David's full unedited comments for those interested:
Have you seen the 1996 prototype of Duke Nukem Forever? This would have been really interesting

I love that Rambo guy dangling from the chopper
Train levels never get old ๐
Yes, looks like some kind of filtering is activated
The creator behind Cultic seems to be cooking something like that right now: bsky.app/profile/jaso...
or even THREE
Nice!
Forget Half-Life 3, I'm still waiting for SiN Episodes 2 ๐โณ๏ธ
Is firing the rifle singlehanded a Trespasser reference? ๐
Hi I'm Johnny Fishville and welcome to Jackbass!
I'm just curious, is the lack of triggers on your models on purpose? The Beretta also didn't have one. Maybe it's not necessary because you can hardly see them in first person view anyway?
It gives me some Goldeneye 64 vibes ๐
The recompiled PC version of Duke Nukem Zero Hour got a mod that allows you to play it in first person with mouse + keyboard support, really awesome

Is Cultic back - in POG form??
For some reason the screenshots with the silenced MP5 and the one with the green computer stuff gives me strong Goldeneye vibes. And the muscle guy could be straight out of SiN ๐
And I'm happy it seems not to be another Wolfenstein-like. Don't get me wrong, I love Wolfenstein, especially RTCW is one of my alltime favourites, but I'd like to see a decent Medal of Honor, early Call of Duty or Brothers in Arms, and this seems to hit that spot :)
Incoming (1998)
Unreal (1998)
Need for Speed III (1998)
Recoil (1999)
Glidecore: The aesthetic of early hardware accelerated games.
- Low poly, with filtered low res textures stretched to hell
- Texel density? What the hell is a texel?
- A lot of flares/particles because wowee blending is easy now!
- Looks like (or literally was) a graphics card pack in
Yeah well... About a week ago, Windows 10 on my PC decided to die, and take all the data with it to the grave. While some of my progress was saved to GoogleDrive, a lot of the stuff I've done in the last weeks is gone. I'm going to shelf this for now and move on to a new project.
I love every single bit you've shown so far! I'm pretty sure it's going to be great
Yes
"best" part in the german version were not the robots, but the scientists and security guards that did not die, but sat on the floor and shaking their heads in disappointment if you shot them
Thank god we got the uncut version on Steam nowadays
Thankfully, after all that nonsense, Zrek actually manages to save the galaxy as depicted here, holding a bunch of alien plants in his arms while standing in a beautiful night forest lit by a hundred colorful lights, glowing like a prophetic figure under the nocturnal skies with the loving message written on screen saying "FUCK OFF BIN LADEN". (it's an actual ingame screen, albeit hidden behind an unlockable credits cheat code)
E.T.: Interplanetary Mission (PS1) (2001)
4/4
I have to disagree on this
been working on an actual playable non-test map for my quake engine game, lots of temp placeholder stuff but it's been pretty fun so far :3
Nice, I finally reached that point in my indie game dev carrier where suddenly my computer dies
