Did our first big garlic mustard pull in the new yard this week end. It's easy to pull but luckily it's not a terrible infestation!

I have a new favourite birb. I’ve fallen in love with Norfolk, I’ve also fallen head over heels for the turnstone. The tiniest of birbs, sound like squeaky toys, hang out on the beach walls & are delightful! So quintessentially “seaside”, so beloved in Norfolk.

A dog walker stood nearby and looked on, apparently not understanding that the dog's presence was what was causing the parents to make such a racket. 😅 To doggy's credit, it was well behaved and stayed perfectly still at heel.

There are tiny blue tits in my plum tree, spinning nimbly around the branches, hanging upside down then bouncing cutely up, hunting for aphids and other bugs. Sweet blue heads and butter-yellow bellies, so small I could fit them in my mouth and also, somehow, they are dinosaurs.

A cautious little red-backed vole peeks curiously from the shelter of a snow cavity under a wooden deck rail
I'm sorry if you're getting sick of the vole photos. There's going to be a few more. I spent a half an hour on the floor of the deck with my back up against the wall and my good camera perched on my knee so I could get some close-ups of my little friends. It was worth the pins and needles #mammals 🌿
