Thank you, editors and reviewers at @cerp.rsc.org, for a very constructive peer review process. We could always do with an artistic rendition of a pedagogical model :)

Thank you. I recommend a shorter default.
A6 It looks a lot like the ring at the climax of a wedding ceremony: circular, golden and everybody grins at it, even those who can't help but cry. #LTHEchat
A5 #LTHEChat in times of difficulty we humans do tend to excel. Smarter is definitely needed here.
A5 closer alignment of the conditions of regulation and TEF is a wondrous gift for combatting all those infuriating cliches about box-ticking and the tail wagging the dog. #LTHEchat
Absolutely! It's been a boon from lecturer to APVC. #LTHEchat
@suebecks.bsky.social do you use deck.blue? The 4-5 min lag in updating the #lthechat column means that Tweetdeck performed much better 10 years ago. These chats are much clunkier than they need to be. Or is there a better tool?
You're never old enough to remember 3. #LTHEchat
A3 Move the date of the NSS, give participants an opportunity to develop some perspective. Consider closer (constructive) alignment of the NSS questions and the TEF objectives. Acknowledging Jim D. #LTHEchat
Q3. What support would help you design stronger learning experiences for your students? #LTHEchat
Reply with A3 #LTHEChat and your response
What about benchmarking? #LTHEchat
A2 But that is true of the NSS too? #LTHEchat
Now back in the day, in #LTHEchat we would call this dereferentialisation. Or more specifically in HE, adjective inflation.
I think a lot will depend on technicalities of how outcomes are benchmarked, particularly wrt institutional mission group, entry tariff etc + how seriously the new system considers equity of outcomes for all groups. But I think it is a good thing a good NSS can't cover for poor outcomes .. #LTHEchat
Come on friends, cheer up, New Year, New TEF, new opportunities. Let's think how the TEF can drive the change we want to see. #LTHEchat
Q1.1? #LTHEchat
Haven't you got bluesky to add a sad button yet? #LTHEchat
A1 I think the "lowest rating" is another positive step in the evolution of the TEF, promoting a consistent balance across the dimensions of the student and graduate experience. #LTHEchat
Hello everyone - really looking forward to discussion this evening on the impact that OfS regulation is having on how we approach teaching, learning, student support and student outcomes #LTHEchat
#LTHEchat Simon from Norwich. Here to learn about the new TEF.
For those new to #LTHEchat we will precede questions with Q1, Q2, Q3 etc.
To answer a question, simply click reply and add A1, A2, A3 etc followed by your answer, and include #LTHEchat, anywhere within your answer.
One hour to go to get ready for tonight's #LTHEchat
Pop the kettle on and get a cuppa. Read the blogpost lthechat.com/2026/01/05/l... and follow the hashtag #LTHEchat
Yes, and whisper it but something needs to give and graduate skills are (generally) more important than discipline. #LTHEchat
Flattered to have a mention from the Queen of social media! #LTHEchat
Interesting, I always fear that if we (ever) go to fast we get no meaningful learning. #LTHEchat
This where the old skool chats would get into dereferentialisation territory. #LTHEchat
Who would do such a sociopathic thing?
A5 we timetable a bunch of students in a room and facilitate them talking to each other about something related to one of the intended learning outcomes. The AI might now even be able to suggest some good conversation prompts (questions) #LTHEchat
The homogenisation to mediocrity has just been super-charged? #LTHEchat
Becksbot 2.0 requires a long-term memory. #LTHEchat
