Today, as a Judge of the International Rights of Nature Tribunal, Yuvelis continues to defend rivers, territories, and the communities that protect them.
✊ Share her story. Voices that defend life must be heard. Congratulations, Yuvelis!
At just 21, after repeated threats, she was forced to flee Colombia. But even from exile, she continued speaking out, addressing Colombian Congress and advocating internationally.
🏆 We celebrate 2026 @goldmanprize.bsky.social winner: Yuvelis Morales 🇨🇴
Born beside the Magdalena River in Puerto Wilches, Colombia, Yuvelis grew up understanding water as life. When fracking projects threatened her community in 2019, she co-founded AguaWil to say: No to fracking. Yes to the river.
