Update: I tipped the driver, they did not seem offended.

Tipping etiquette/ golden rule question.
Iβm invited to give a talk and the sponsoring department pays a driver to lug me from airport to hotel.
Itβs usually like 20 minutes or something.
Assume the department has it covered or tip (which probably has to be cash). If tip, how much?
I wish I had a dollar for every time I corrected "stained" to "labeled"
Baked potato split into quarters and suspiciously resembling a dissected eyeball
Retina folks, I had this baked potato and... I don't know... it reminds me of something
Trying to find some protocols for cone isolation from frogs that don't involve transgenics or freezing. There is a surprising dearth of information out there for cone isolation? Seems to be mostly rods. Is anyone familiar with any simple-ish protocols? π§ͺ π #xenopus
Sorry I don't know of a protocol. Can you dissociate and use PNA-biotin or sumthin? I have never panned but people do that for RGCs, I don't know why it wouldn't work for cones..
Chief, CONTROL regulations clearly state...
I hope it was When the levee breaks!

That's a fantastic observation!
"Brownian" was also not accepted, to my astonishment and dismay.
Photo of a black baseball cap with the NHL logo and the letters class of 67
I was born around the time of the release of the Sgt. Pepper's album. Then about 30 years ago my brother bought me this cap celebrating the 1967 NHL expansion (including my hometown St Louis Blues!) and with my birth year.
Now suddenly this hat has found its moment in the Gen alpha Zeitgeist.
Scene from the film Romancing the Stone in which Ira (Zack Norman) admires his pet crocodiles to the bemusement of his cousin Ralph (Danny DeVito). Ira has just thrown some meat to the crocs, who gulp it down ravenously, to the appreciation of Ira who tells Ralph "look at those snappers, will ya?"
Look at those snappers, will ya!
Lots of legitimate options
The fusion of O'ahu with the big island seems a much more serious problem than the vocanic eruption
Very nice! Can you please share what each of the colors indicate?
Yo hoping to get some calibration.
People who organize meetings, and you use an app, how much should that cost?

used it really well to follow MG in mouse retina but I think Danny's point is tthat it's MG enriched but some other immune cells can express it as well- I guess how big a problem that is depends on the anatomical context

...We should just have my AI grade their AI and we can all just go home. Of course nobody will have learned anything, but that's a small price to pay for having gotten on the AI bandwagon which (the AI guys tell us) is really important to not get left behind.
My AI Qualtrics survey answer:
OK, I'm a dinosaur, but look. I am very concerned about how ChatGTP etc are going to affect classroom assignments. If the students are going to write their reports with AI, why should I have to use my actual brain to grade that stuff?...
Go Mullins!
I was hoping this post would get some action as it's a great question. We made PCAbs before at Proteintech some of which were very good and then they discontinued the service. Please let us know if you learn anything about bespoke MAb vendors.
Best is lunch with the trainees!
Thinking we should make some monoclonal antibodies so wondering what experiences people have had with different companies, as it's not going to be cheap so want to get our moneys worth?
New paper from the lab! In collaboration with Patrice Tankam lab at Indiana University, we evaluated changes in the Descemet's membrane thickness in the double mutant FECD mice. Congrats to the co-first authors Hadiya Pattan and Subashree Murugan!
