A view of the sea and the far mainland (Campbelltown) from Arran, on a sunny day.

It was a really exceptional
holiday, chaps. I very much recommend Arran, it’s so lovely - especially at this time of year with LAMBS GALORE.

Great standing stones, great beer, excellent whiskey, a weird saint, loads of hares, fab folk museum.

Each of the 12 cottages has a unique window which was used by fishermen's wives to shine a light to their husbands at sea.

A view through a gloomy, quite bare interior, to a large window and doorway onto a covered area outside with people sitting at tables. The wall on the left is the wooden front for a counter topped with yellow fabric blinds that have been lowered to leave a single gap through to a kitchen area; the floor is unfinished and slightly shiny, reflecting light from outside. A single bulb dangles into shot.

I thought I'd join in with #RockinTuesday &
#TidesOutTuesday with an image I took years ago showing the Holy Isle and Whiting Bay on Arran. I think I recall that the ripples in the 'sand' are actually rock, which amazes me.

A tree fern to the left of the photo overhanging a pond filled with water lilies. You can just see Brodick Castle in the background through the trees. It was a beautiful spring day and you can see blue sky in the background too.

Jurassic Park, Arran style... A tree fern looking wonderfully ancient over the pond at Brodick Castle. #Photography #Travel #Scotland #LandscapePhotography #Holiday
