Working on creating more traditional medium look via digital mediums. I think i finally start to crack the code for the style I hoped to achieve since longtime.
Also enjoying to discover a brighter and softer palette. #kidlitart #procreate

Hello #kidlitpostcardday ! I am Nazli, Turkish illustrator living and loving in Belgium, Namur. I love drawing grannies, but also animals, crazy detailed scenes, and recently magic and mystery!
I am open for a new project, if you want to see more of my work, check my website!
March brought winter back here since a week. I wanted to prepare a magical piece, and seeing the weather, I figured it was the best moment. Also, just before Bologna Fair! I know our recent art can always be our favorite, but this is rrally a favorite of mine!
Preparing more #middlegrade / #chapterbook portfolio pieces for @bolognachildrensbookfair . I thought it was long due for me to create a magical illustration series. Thus, I present you my little witch!
And here comes my favorite spread of the series.

Here comes the cover! - of the little detective series!

Another mg/chapter book portfolio piece, I must say I love illustrating mystery stories!
The bone of this illustration is actually from an unapproved page of a book i illustrated early 2025. The artistic director knew what she was doing, the new page was indeed a better fit! But I always thought it was a beautiful sketch, so i am glad to put it in use!
Finally sharing the finished illustration of my recent post. I decided to prepare more MG portfolio pieces. I thought it was time for a long-in-waiting mystery illustration series.
I will definitely share the whole art, but I feel it is a shame to not share the background, before some people appear in the front, for the story’s sake!
Thank you Rachel!
The inspration of the second illustration for the story came from our last summer trip to france. Although this town was not full with flowers, many other town we have passed were. I took my time to make the most of the details and i really love this piece!

Daydreaming, a more nature related #kidlitart portfolio piece. It fet good to illustrate a summer piece in these long gray days.
I wanted to create a mice illustration piece for awhile, and i am so happy with it! I will add more illustrations to this theme soon. #kidlit
Christmas and it’s rush for my Portrait store is over! I can finally share some of my latest work of the festive season. 🎄🎄
Second one of the series, this time it is the rework of the northen lights tundra illustration
Creating more realistic animal portfolio pieces. I did not guess i would enjoy drawing this concept that much!

Another illustration for @illoagency ‘ november prompt #fallingthroughtime
It took me 3 days and 18hours of active working to complete this Downton Abbey inspired picnic scene, in which I used many references from oil paintings. I hope you will enjoy it as much as i do! #kidlitart
While I was looking to my childhood memories for @illoagency ‘s November prompt #fallingthroughtime , i remembered the ladies of my grandmother’s village and their now long gone houses. One single level house on her street had a very old mulberry tree, and my grandma a prune tree.
#kidlitart
++We would climb on them, but the mulberry tree was once s year an harvest festival spot for the young mothers. They would climb to the roof and stay there the whole afternoon. I honestly don’t remember what a mulberry tree looks like, so i started to look online.++
++ I then spotted this (2) 200yo. mulberry tree from south-east of Turkey, and decided to create the illustration centered to this magnificent tree. You can see the other references to my illustration (3 and 4).
Finally finished my #kidlitartpostcard , fashionably late. It is also #illoagency ‘s october prompt; #artforcause.

The best tip (imo) for illustrated books: never repeat what's in the text in the image. Always add something to the narrative in the image. Think of the art and words as two widgets in a machine with slightly different jobs that work together to make the machine work.
Finally, today I finished the illustrations of one of the book projects i am working in. I can not share any sneak-peaks, but i can share my lovely « cloudy day office » view which have helped me through this intense working months. Illustration is unrelated, from my portrait business.
I’m so excited to share my first book deal with my amazing agency, @illoagency, and my wonderful agent, Amy! Beautiful story about two girls, one from Turkey and the other is from Greece. The book will be published in autumn 2026 by @charlesbridgepublishing !

I just realized that I forgot to share the amazing educational circus pedagogy book i had the chance to illustrate over a year and a half ago. Written by circus educators and health workers from 3 different european countries, it is amazing to read how circus can help to deal with struggles.
How nice! This illustration is inspired from İstanbul. :)
