What is the project about?
This survey is part of the wider Autistic Experiences of Breast Cancer research project. With this part of the project, we are exploring the breast cancer experiences of autistic and non-autistic people who have a breast cancer diagnosis to see if there are any similarities or differences in their experiences.
Who are we looking for?
• Autistic people (diagnosed or self-identify)
• Non-autistic people
• Aged 18 years or older
• Been diagnosed with breast cancer (including DCIS and secondary/metastatic breast cancer)
• Diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in the UK
What would it involve?
• Filling in an online survey
• This could take around 20-30 mins to complete
• A code word is provided to you and you will be asked for the code word at the start of the survey. This is to help reduce the number of non-genuine participants trying to access the survey, including bots.

If so, we would like you to take part in some PhD research
for the University of Manchester. The research involves
completing some questionnaires online. We are aiming to
learn more about difficulty getting started on things in your
daily life. Some people call this inertia. We are interested
in responses from people who experience inertia and

This study received ethical approval via The University of Manchester Research Ethics Committee.
Who can take part?
Autistic adults (18 or over). This includes being diagnosed or self-identified.
Who is running the study?
We are a team of researchers at the University of Manchester. The lead researcher is an autistic PhD student.
How long does it take?
The survey will take about 20 minutes to complete.
Is there any compensation for taking part?
There is no compensation for taking part in this study.

I've seen some posts about gestalt language processing in autism again. Just to say we have no evidence that autistic language learners process language in that way. Some of us do produce language in that way though. Important not to conflate processing with production.
