Probably my favorite image from the aurora last week. Shot in Duluth, Minnesota. Someone told me it looks like a stoplight in the sky, and now I can't unsee it.

The unclimbed South face of Dhaulagiri I, the 7th highest peak on planet Earth. Geography classes coming to life with this one - never imagined I'd get to witness this stunning mountain range with my own eyes.

October 26th, 25. Ghorepani, Nepal. Witnessing Annapurna South from the window of our tea house room was nothing short of magical. The clear views kept us absolutely clueless about the cyclone that was approaching us (& hit us in 2 days).

October 25, Nepal. Annapurna South and the vibrancy of fall colors, a day before the cyclonic storms started all over Nepal. Unfortunately we had to descend and skip the rest of the trek due to severe weather conditions

Pulga, India. November 23.
I love clicking photos of sunlight peeping through tall old trees. I probably have a few hundred shots of the same thing, never gets old. Protective watchful eyes of the old guardians looking down.

@yana86.bsky.social I've visited this exact spot twice in the last 7 years, its the one place that does stays the same :)
Yes, the colors are different due to the difference in the terrain they pass through. Akalanka picks up more silt and mud on the way down

Captured in Devprayag, Uttarakhand India, Sep 22. This is the point where the two Himalayan rivers Alaknanda & Bhagirathi (with distinctive colors) fuse to form Ganga, India's most iconic river that flows through 2500+ kms

@snake-song.bsky.social the colors are because of Rayleigh scattering which gets intense in beaches because of the presence of particles in the air. The beach was extremely humid and windy the day we visited (this part of India is very humid in general) which could be a reason why it's so bright.

Kochi, India. May 22.
Kochi has some of the most magnificent sunsets I've ever witnessed. It's like the sky split to display all 7 colors of the visible spectrum.

When it's all said and done, when we've squeezed out every last drop of water, killed every last tree, consumed ever other species, destroyed every piece of fertile land left - where do we go?

Maybe another dose of scaremongering - use or get replaced tactic. I've experienced the downfall of this field first hand in 13 years. To "let's make cancer screenings more efficient" to "use it else you'll get jobless", we've taken a long
wrong turn.

Why am I not surprised 😑!
I can't imagine why this wasn't obvious from the start. Shoot first and ask later attitude at it's best. Years wasted on forcing the adoption of a glorified pattern matching algorithm combined with a chatbot. Not to mention the impact of constant scaremongering!

LinkedIn’s obsession with “XZY AI tool just killed ABC profession” posts is just insane 😭😭

No matter how many people I unfollow, a handful of them pop up the next day.

Waiting for the day when we start bragging about solving problems than creating new ones

Mt Everest, Lhotse & Makalu spotted from Phalut top.
The best part - when you're in Phalut, you're constantly switching between India & Nepal borders. Imagine being in 2 countries at once while spotting this view 😁
