Amazing!! Women Help Women (womenhelp.org) is manufacturing their own abortion pills in order to make abortion safer, simpler and more accessible across borders. They designed an eco-friendly combi-pack that's easier to mail discreetly and centred around women’s experiences and needs.

We [@eecoast.bsky.social, @joestrong.bsky.social, Footman, @luberropizzarossa.bsky.social, @clarewenham.bsky.social, Jelinska, & I] draw on 8,577 consultations + 80 emails to Women Help Women (Apr–Dec 2020) showing how precarity and structural violence make pregnancy a “cliff edge”.

the guidance also proves what @luberropizzarossa.bsky.social & I have argued: that telemedicine reified medicine & law’s exceptionalising of abortion, extending its reach into the home rather than (as hoped) liberating it from these institutions. doi.org/10.1016/j.ws...
a screenshot of a powerpoint slide - black background, white heading that reads 'any poison or other noxious thing'. on the left, a blue circle with 5 pills - 1 mifepristone, 4 misoprostol. on the right, two headings from newspapers. the first reads, ''Deeply sinister': Police testing women who have miscarriages for abortion drugs', and the second one reads, 'British police testing women for abortion drugs'.
Thanks, Pauline Milani & Marlyse DeBurgh, for inviting me to a workshop on "Fighting for our reproductive freedom'.
Apart from work w/ @luberropizzarossa.bsky.social on transgressions/cacophonies, I'll be presenting (for the first time!) on my new project on abortion criminalisation in GB.

🚨 Just tried accessing Abotak (Poland’s first stationary abortion center) omw to Edinburgh—BLOCKED because it’s "associated with abortion."
Abortion is safe, common & essential—so why the censorship? This is digital gatekeeping at its worst.
Go check out their incredible work: abotak.org/en/
The next time somebody tries to tell you that you can’t be Catholic and pro-choice, remind them that 68% of Catholics did not want to see Roe v. Wade overturned.
Celebrate the opening of Abotak! Poland's first abortion clinic. Opening on Saturday 8th March 2025 Donate to Abotak! and there's a QR code with the donate link.

Figure out what organizing means to you and do it. If you’re not sure how to think about that question, here’s a book to start with, not because it has all the answers but because it will help you think about your answers: www.haymarketbooks.org/books/1922-l...
✨ In these heavy times, here’s a gentle reminder that joy still exists—especially in the form of wiggly tails and floppy ears.
Softness is also resistance. 💛
“I felt singled out, a bad mother, a bad woman”—our study explores violence in abortion trajectories in #Uruguay, 10 years after legal reform. What we found is troubling: legal access ≠ dignified care.
🧵 Thirteen years ago, Uruguay took a major step in reproductive rights by legalizing abortion. It was a victory for autonomy & health. But obstetric violence in abortion care remains pervasive.
In this blog we summarise the findings of our study - tinyurl.com/wzjbwh5c
buffer zones are in the news. while Vance & co‘s critiques are anti abortion & scaremonger about “thought crimes”… can we still think critically about buffer zones & carcerality, from a reproductive justice perspective? @luberropizzarossa.bsky.social & I think so: ohrh.law.ox.ac.uk/buffer-zones...
✨This work is deeply personal and political. It stands as a testament to the courage and resilience of those who fight every day for reproductive autonomy—because even in fear, we move forward.

Using the concept of the palimpsest, we analyze how activists layer new strategies, voices, and resistance over past struggles—inscribing their experiences, challenges, and victories onto the movement’s evolving landscape.

Why do we need a theorisation? (1) Tt moves us towards a much more multidimensional understanding of abortion (beyond healthcare), (2) It allows us potentially engage with "wellbeing" across subjective and objective domains, & (3) it allows us to consider abortion over the lifecourse/transitions 3/
that #abortion is a key component of health & wellbeing - & denial has a detrimental impact on wellbeing is frequently asserted in research, advocacy, and policy. despite this wide acceptance, there is little conceptual theorisation of wellbeing and abortion. 2/
