Got a notification that EndNote will soon be requiring you to change your password every 180 days….I’m confident this won’t cause any issues for researchers…. Right? 😅 #medlibs

For those interested in more AI clown shenanigans 🙂 My not-so-systematic messing around with EndNote’s new research assistant chatbot to see if it picks up on clown shenanigans in the methods of PDFs #medlibs whsla-wi.blogspot.com/2025/10/clow...
It’s close to identical to EN21. Main difference would be a new AI pdf summarizer (which I’m conflicted about), links to citation data in web of science, and quoting pdf option
Most of the differences are in the first few paragraphs of their selection criteria page. Getting rid of LSTRC is the biggie, but there are some interesting language changes when comparing the new page with an older version using Wayback Machine
I made some checklists based on published criteria. 😊 researchguides.library.wisc.edu/c.php?g=1154...
You have to click “track status” and then, if prompted, sign in a second time. It should then appear in the queue where you can download it. Super annoying.
It seemed to be working in Chrome better today (I usually use Firefox). Glad it wasnt just my computer malfunctioning 😅
Also its, not it’s. Dang autocorrect 😆
OpenEvidence now seems to have a weekly query limit for non-clinicians instead of a daily one, making it even MORE difficult to test out it’s accuracy/limitations. Really??? Grrr. #medlibs
As a note Scopus seems to be working better in Chrome for whatever reason
It just started working again for me too! I noticed PubMed didnt seem to go down this weekend, bur the MeSH database went down completely, then it was just the individual pages yesterday and this morning. Hopefully shenanigans are over…..
Are others unable to access the MeSH hierarchy? If so hopefully it gets fixed soon 😬 #medlibs
#medlibs looks like PubMed’s still working during the maintenance today, but the MeSH database is out of commission…..
I laughed quite a few times reading the clown article sections Copilot made for me 😆
Hey, all! I had way too much fun writing this WHSLA blog post, and figured I would share 😊 #medlibs whsla-wi.blogspot.com/2025/07/clow...
FYI, nih announces cap on apcs #medlibs

Hey, #medlibs! People may have already seen this, but it looks like NCBI databases are undergoing an update July 26 which may last “12+ hours.” The notification sppeared in PubMed, so assuming that’ll be impacted too. ncbiinsights.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2025/07/08/n...
For others that need a little happiness today #sandhillcranes #gosling #cuteanimals

Guess #medlibs and others need to check every reference these days. "Exclusive: US CDC vaccine presentation cites study that does not exist, author says"

For those doing line by lines, make sure scopus is interpreting the search reference number, and not just searching for the number. Caused me a massive headache figuring out that new glitch existed when doing a systematic review search 😅 hopefully that’s fixed by now
I’ve been noticing this a lot recently too, especially with inconsistency on AND NOTs and it refusing to acknowledge search numbers. I’ve also noticed the results numbers don’t always show up on the results page
Oh no!!! Maybe widespread glitches, then. At least Scopus isn’t bullying me, specifically, then 😅
Took way too long of banging my head against the wall to figure this out when doing a line-by-line if one of my reviews 😅
PSA for Scopus users:
Hey, #medlibs , this might just be an issue with my access currently, but combining queries from the search history by manually typing numbers (e.g., #1 OR #2) doesn’t seem to be working. It does work using those checkmarks in the basic search
Also an additional FYI for #MLANET25 presenters that I don’t think you get any Q&A notifications in pheedloop, so be sure to check that tab for your presentation every once in a while! #medlibs
Hey, fellow #MLANET25 presenters! As an FYI in pheedloop if you go to the “backstage” tab they have polls & q&a section, where you can add a poll to your presentation. Not sure how many responses we’ll get, but it’s fun to play with 😊 #medlibs
I managed to get EndNote 2025 installed this week! As a note the PDF AI tool will default to summarizing the abstract field of the citation if it can’t read the PDF. Strangely it has trouble with new JMLA pdfs! Haven’t figured out why
If you want the desktop version someone on here was kind and shared this link. Worked for me when i reset the password (i never received an email for it, either!) pheedloop.com/mla25/login/
It worked!!!! Thank you so much!!!! 😊
