I have joy in my local community seeing the flag brigade are being bested by two messages I thoroughly stand behind:

This month sees the kick off of my @BreakthroughT1DUK funded project: Exploring the biopsychosocial mechanisms of diabetes burnout.

This project aims to understand more about the burnout in ppl living with T1D. Later, we'll be doing a small genotype study to learn more.

Updates to follow!

Helpful context, thank you. It seems there are fewer of my academic buddies on here - seems they got split between LinkedIn, here, and Mastodon.

Good to know! I should probably invest a bit of time in familiarising myself with it more. I find there's fewer academic buddies on here, unfortunately. Seems like the crowd got split in the Twitter exodus between here, LinkedIn, Mastodon etc.

So, Twitter/X is still a hellhole, and I can't like LinkedIn no matter how much I try - is BlueSky getting any better? I had so much hope for it, but it seemed to fizzle out.

I miss using SM for my work, is any platform working well for academic nerdery these days?

Excited to see this will be available soon!

Very proud to be among the excellent names in one of the most broad and comprehensive tables of contents I've seen in an academic collection.

Congratulations, @drnicolaholt.bsky.social and colleagues!

A graphic to emphasise the post. The image has a purple background with an orange abstract pattern in the right top corner. At the top it says Division of Health Psychology in orange. In the centre, in larger text it says Your views needed! in white. The bottom of the image is white with the BPS logo.

That's a wrap!! HUGE thanks to @royalsociety.org for organising such an interesting and informative week peeking behind the curtain of Parliament. I've learned a huge amount, and whilst I probably need to sleep for about a week now, I'm looking forward to putting it into action.

Day 4 of the #PairingScheme25 sees me working in the Home Office building with my Civil Service pair. I've presented our @cv19heroes.bsky.social work to her team, discussed critical workforce issues, and had a chat with the Chief Scientific Advisor. Oh, and I also got to see the Palace in the sun.

A great first day at the @royalsociety.org today as part of the #PairingScheme25 listening to some interesting talks about the good work of the society and interfacing with policymakers. I feel very lucky to have been selected for this year's scheme. A big thank you to all the organisers!

I don't know who needs to see this, but for some autistic people, remote work is a necessity... not a perk. Of course, it won't be possible in every profession. But when feasible... it should be a required accommodation for autistic people who need it.

1/We analysed GP Patient Survey data from>750K people in England:
Around 1 in 20 people had #LongCovid & nearly 1 in 10 were not sure if they have it.
We did adjusted analysis by social & demographic attributes to find out who's more likely to have LC or is uncertain about it.
Here's what we found🧵

Comes to something when a Labour government would rather punish the most vulnerable of our society, cut the legs out of the NHS, and force universities into redundancy before taxing the rich. Or entertaining the idea of reclaiming fraudulently lost money from Covid contracts, loans etc.

We're in London today with a big old bus to tell our Govt this country cannot afford cuts. Instead they should tax us, the super rich. A 2% wealth tax alone could raise up to £460mln a week. @Keir_starmer - invest in a fairer economy. Patriotic Millionaires say Tax Our Wealth

I've had a top few days in the Psych department at UL with the most excellent @elainekinsella.bsky.social. We've made great headway on the @cv19heroes.bsky.social 5 Year Survey and future funding plans.

Amazing what two people can get done with some dedicated time! Thank you for having me, UL!
