Day 4 of the #PairingScheme25 sees me working in the Home Office building with my Civil Service pair. I've presented our @cv19heroes.bsky.social work to her team, discussed critical workforce issues, and had a chat with the Chief Scientific Advisor. Oh, and I also got to see the Palace in the sun.

2) seeing👸Camilla leave Buckingham Palace in her 🚗
3) in the HoC Speaker Gallery for PMQs (sat right behind Keir!)
4) #HouseOfLords reception + views 👇

Inside Westminster Hall. Steps leading up to a large coloured window.
My key takeaways from today at the @royalsociety.org #pairingscheme25:
🏛 UK Government departments ALL have a science 🧪 office!
✍️ Policymakers don't often read #science journal articles. We must distill our findings in concise ways.
🙈 MPs & policymakers are busy - they need simple messaging.
A group of people in a large old building with wooden roof. This is Westminster Hall.
A slide from Chris Young at UK Space Agency showing how science has influenced space policy.
From Parliament to the science of space debris all in a morning! #pairingscheme25
So much to take in, but I'm feeling more confident that UK Government does care about science. But that we scientists (i.e. me) need to be effective communicators! 👍🧪
