Today is #EarthDay 🌍

I invite you to join us today in this prayer, written by the Bishop of Norwich.

We are part of God’s creation living in the earth, but with a special responsibility to care for creation, to mind its well-being and its flourishing. Make us more like Jesus we pray.

An undulating landscape covered in green woodland stretches towards the horizon. In the foreground, a man with a backpack looks into the distance, taking in the view. A bumblebee, cuckoo bird and a small tortoiseshell butterfly are overlaid. Text reads, "Starting tomorrow: DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT for a wilder Scotland." The logo for "Earth Raise Big Give" is in the bottom right corner.

Would you recognise a pine marten? They aren't often seen in the UK but we're working hard to create suitable habitats for them by restoring Lake District temperate rainforests.

Help us and for one week any donations you make will be worth double - 22nd-29th April.

His testimony is a reminder that God is not absent in our most painful moments, and we can be held by His presence in the hardest of times. We pray this message encourages you, and we invite you to share in the comments below about a time when you knew God was with you. 🙏 | Thy Kingdom Come ⭐️ The next testimony in our God With Us series comes from The Right Reverend Barry Hill, The Bishop of Whitby in the Diocese of York, who reflects on one of the hardest points in his life and the...

"As we prepare to fly the flag of St George both on 23rd April and this summer in support of our football team, it’s a great opportunity to remember that we are England united – united across difference, in service of our neighbour, a service at the heart of our Christian heritage.” - Bishop Barry Hill

Ahead of St George's Day on 23 April, the Church of England is sharing helpful resources for churches and groups, including prayers, readings, and materials to explore who St George was and what his story can still teach us today.

Almighty Father,
you have given your only Son to die for our sins
and to rise again for our justification:
grant us so to put away the leaven of malice and wickedness
that we may always serve you
in pureness of living and truth;
through the merits of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

Without energy efficiency, the EU would need — and pay — 31% more for energy today.

Since 2000, efficiency has removed 265 Mtoe of demand from the market entirely.

The best protection against a price shock is not finding cheaper oil and gas. It's needing less of it.
