How can you spend your whole career focused on conserving ecosystem and wildlife and then use something that is destroying them to do your research? It is fundamentally contradictory.

As a student currently studying zoology and taking many courses focused on conservation it is incredibly disheartening to hear many of my professors and guest speakers advocate for the use of generative ai as if it does not go against the very thing we are being taught.
