Blaming voters means the Democratic Party can avoid the accountability of Biden stepping aside too late for Harris/Walz to make an impact on voters.

Biden can be directly blamed for refusing to release the Epstein Files.

"As far as I have seen"
Apologies if we had our hopes, dreams and anecdotal wishes surgically removed when we became Public Health experts. We don't subscribe to the "H3 is not that different from H1" fantasy when we have been screaming "H1 is VERY different from H3" for decades before 2009.

New COVID variant with immune escape potential confirmed in US & 22 other countries.

BA.3.2 represents a new lineage of SARS-CoV-2, genetically distinct from the JN.1 lineages that have circulated in the US since January 2024.

"A new variant, H3N2 subclade K, is driving a surge in cases"
Back in the good old days of Public Health we used to refer to "new" influenza strains as "novel". Now we blame parents for dead kids when the vaccine formulation can't keep up with what's in circulation. #H3N2 #BirdFlu

There's novel influenza racing across the US with zero mitigations. Expect record numbers of dead American kids this year.

Helen does a disservice to Public Health by blaming parents when this age group (0-4 years) is often ineligible for influenza vaccination and certainly not attending school.

If POTUS47 wanted a CDC Director, there would have been one named by POTUS47 15 months ago. Watch this position eventually get mothballed completely.

Whitewashing history is apparently going to include how SARS-2019 was a "new virus".
This SARS was NOT novel.
Omikron was more genetically divergent from SARS-2019 than SARS-2019 was to SARS-2004. We failed to implement the lessons of 20 years ago.

Ukraine is actively protecting our troops and Russia is actively helping Iran target them.

But every single time he's tested, Trump sides with Putin. It's the most consistent he is on any topic. No matter what they do, Trump is on Team-Russia.

At this point it really doesn't matter why.

21,000 dead Americans from 340K hospitalizations.
All completely avoidable. If you ever wanted evidence of the death of PH in America, this is "just the flu" flying under the media radar. #WearN95

We often disagree over the fundamentals of who controls Public Health, and this is a situation where you are right because you're starting to understand the WHO doesn't control its own finances.

Immune System Damage From COVID-19 Is Different From HIV/AIDS — But the Advocacy Has Parallels Some advocates have called COVID-19 “airborne AIDS,” but this is a misnomer.

How much more relevant is the discussion of #LongCOVID disease equated to #AirborneAIDS - only one year after this article dismissed both diseases' resulting immune dysfunction as a "misnomer"? #WearN95 is not fearmongering.

China never ended testing.
They still have the infamous APP which allows them to trace, for assist with the notification to the user to do testing.
They prescribe Azvudine (a failed HIV drug), which seems to act as a post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).
(things everyone else should have done).

We typically don't recommend comparisons between #HIV & #SARS since they're different viruses. Rather, we recommend looking at the knowledge we have gained from #AIDS (disease) to understand #LongCOVID (disease). We also recommend #WearN95 with eye protection to prevent #AirborneAIDS.

"persistent neuroinflammation highlights diagnostic complexity and therapeutic gaps"
That's a polite way of saying, "we somehow still don't have a #LongCOVID test or treatment" - but it's obvious even without these that there's neurological damage after SARS infection. #NeuroCOVID 1/2

This study included NZ data, but not for the reasons anyone here understands. Eventually, this data will be set in front of Chairman Xi and he'll be informed, China's efforts since 2024 to maintain some SARS pandemic measures are why China cannot end them now.

"December 2019 serving as the prepandemic baseline for country-specific, age-adjusted linear projections of expected mortality"
Good on this study to use the proper baseline. We can't count the number of epidemiological reseach which don't understand the current data for Excess Mortality is skewed.

"can't die twice" is just Survivor Bias.
This study looks at "can we grow old people on trees", and it would have been nice for them to acknowledge the Excess Mortality in the 0->65 age group. Death before 65, prevents people from dying later at the age over 85. As was stated, this is all bad.

Novel Influenza #H3N2 - that's what you call a new subclade K of avian influenza that evades prior immunity! "just the flu" is a deadly pathogen even when it's not the #SuperFlu

Think SARS is a good comparrison to HIV/AIDS?

HIV doesn’t kill you, HIV weakens your immune system and then something else kills you. Well isn't that what SARS is doing?

Except SARS is Airborne.

Boosters: the mRNA stimulate immune checkpoint inhibitors. We were against referring to them as vaccines and would have preferred they were referred to as boosters. These COVID19 mRNA boosters are only effective for 9-13 months if they are dosed properly (in accordance with the product monograph).

Glad to see that the mRNA Nobel Prize is poking holes into the moronic claims of know-nothing ACIP members mouthing off on things they have no idea about.
