Part of teaching is that any allure of new slang is instantly broken by its constant infiltration into classroom conversation. I'm always going to be that Milennial who's stuck in 2005 lingo.

It wasn't labeled when I bought it, but that looks about right!
After about 4-5 inches, I k2tog twice every round (every 40st), then after ~3 inches, started k2tog 4 times each round (every 20st). Decreased until only a few stitches were left and tied up the remainders!
No pattern, I tend to make up hats as I go along.
In the round with US 6 needles, I cast on 80 stitches and did k1p1 for about two inches for the brim. Switched to Andalusian stitch for the rest of the hat.

I'm recaulking the bathtub today, and I really wish that my town had a Dennys so that I could fistfight the previous owners of my house behind the dumpster.
Everything about this novel felt bittersweet, lovely and real in a way that I'm sure is appealing to 99% of Milennials. I really appreciate a bildungsroman that doesn't romanticize the 90s, but still captures the feeling of growing up in that era.
Kevin Wilson has a knack for building some truly amazing messy female protagonists who are struggling to figure out their lives and assert themselves into the world. It's quite the niche and I salute him for it. 💙📚
