which is now northern Poland. The model was unable to understand the context of medieval Pomerania and was unaware of the Pomeranian Wars in 12th C.
I was curious to know if this had changed after 4 years of developing such models. So I asked Nanobanana to generate a picture using a similar prompt.

In 2022, I asked the AI model DALL-E to generate an image of an army led by the 12th-century Polish duke Bolesław Krzywousty fighting Pomeranians. It produced an image of 'knights' fighting Pomeranian dogs.
In the 12th century, the Pomeranians were still only the inhabitants of Pomerania,

So, he went to Prussia to fight the pagan Lithuanians, even though they had been systematically and peacefully Christianised after 1385 when their duke Jogaila married the Polish queen Jadwiga and was baptised.
He was one of the Westerners who had been fooled by the Teutonic Order's propaganda.

Przede mna jeszcze znalezienie kogoś, kto chciałby to wydać w formie takiej, jaką sobie wymarzyłem, a więc z obszerną częścią opisową, zawierającą zdjęcia zabytków i mapy, dające archeologiczny i historyczny kontekst całej opowieści.

To tzw. High Middle Ages.

In the battle Comes Żelisław had his shield-holding hand cut off but immediately avenged the loss by manfully striking down his maimer. To honor him Duke Bolesław gave him a golden hand in place of the one of flash he had lost.

The pin spent over 60 years in storage. After spending over half a century in storage, it didn't look particularly good. The bronze inlays had oxidised and turned green. But now, after conservation, it has regained its former glory.

This ring pin was found during excavations in the 11th-century ring fort in Spycimierz, central Poland, in the 1960s. Unlike most Viking Age Scandinavian ring pins, it is made of iron, not bronze. However, it is decorated with thin bronze wire inlays.
Iron pins were popular in 10th-13th c. PL.
