Absolutely agree there but if the US managed to be the ones to end it they would just install a puppet dictator that serves their interests rather than the people's.
I don't think military intervention from an empire is helpful for liberating people in general.

So yeah of course Iran is a horribly despotic country but we shouldn't ignore the influence of the US intervention in creating that monster either.
I hope we can have more cooperative countries and a more cooperative world some day and it seems clear that socialism is the only path to that.
Mao and Lenin did have some great ideas even though I disagree with some of them.
I hope that through unionization, coops, and mutual aid we can achieve socialism in a better way with popular support and democracy in liberal democratic countries which is why I'm part of DSA.
Sorry for assuming you were a usian
Hasan was saying in a funny way that Iran needs socialism just like we do.
Imo previous socialist experiments were flawed and had to make tough decisions because of the capitalist oligarchy but it doesn't justify all of them or absolve them of all wrong doing.
We don't even have a real democracy, we have a capitalist oligarchy.
Once that oligarchy is threatened then they'll get rid of our freedoms real quick, never forget who has the real power in our society.

The US has supported autocracy and fascism across the world when it has suited the interests of our businesses.
On top of that, the IMF and world bank create a neoliberal financial empire that keeps 3rd world countries in debt traps that prop up the US dollar.
We supported the dictator of Taiwan because the US elite's fear/hatred of socialism and the spread of capitalist financial imperialism is more important for our imperial power than democracy or liberal values.
If we wanted a better and free world then we wouldn't be opposed to democratic socialism.
Yeah I would've added that they should've gone further if it weren't for the character limit. Arguably the union did a better job than Biden did with MAGA though.
Biden's only success was jailing January 6ers and all of them were mass pardoned immediately by Trump.
Some Democrats want to be Republican so badly so maybe at the point that the Republican party ceases to exist, DSA and progressives should just let them and create a 3rd party.
So of course she failed. She didn't appeal to the appetite for change that voters today have.
Rather than focusing on appealing to voters and shaping a collective vision for the future with them, establishment Democrats rely almost entirely on donors and crafting boogymen to enhance their tribalism
Once Biden failed to do that, then sure it was up to the voters but the Democrats failed to provide a candidate that had a promise of a better future to vote for.
Her promise was of stability and a continuation of the status quo that created the frustration that made Trump successful.
Democrats prefer Trump destroying the Republican party and the country because it ensures they'll have better electoral chances which increases their money from donors.
If democrats cared about the world and the country Biden would've dismantled MAGA completely like the union did with the south.
Biden was likely doomed no matter what he did because of the COVID economy and supporting Israel's genocide. Pretty much every incumbent got screwed across the world.
Most importantly he failed in stopping Trump's second term and the rise of fascism in favor of bipartisanship.
Yeah the Democrat consultants need to reckon with the fact that the people filling out the ballots don't want what they're selling.
Candidates who will actually deliver on things that will improve their lives is what actually gets voter engagement.
@ctulocal1.bsky.social once again leads by example. CTU got the CPS school system to agree to, among other things to—
• Provide buses for students and educators to attend the big May Day rally
• Pledge not to retaliate against students or staff who participate in May Day. #ShareGoodNewsToo
Hopefully we get another Paris commune out of it but bigger and better
Another company to boycott.
Rao's and Reggano are better anyway.
This is just going to be another data scraping venture.
It looks great!
If I were in the UK, I'd be supporting the Greens who are much closer to what Labour originally stood for.
Greens have shown that you have to have bold people first politics to beat Reform, trying to compromise with fascist policies just strengthens the fascist movement because you legitimize them.
Without the threat of strikes, protests are toothless and just raise awareness, which is still great but is just not enough today.

"These current market conditions are permanent."
Not if we have anything to say about it.
Our hearts go out to those hit by layoffs at Iron Galaxy. You, and we all, deserve better.
And do not ever buy the lie that nothing can change.
In Nordic countries social democratic concessions are falling and liberal parties are pushing for neoliberal austerity but that's emboldening a fascist movement from people who want fundamental change.
It's either socialism or descending into fascism.
The rich always claw back concessions and thwart any attempts to get more or keep the ones we have.
The only way for working people to actually win the class war is through organizing and trying to build a democratic socialism, a truce with the rich will never hold.
FDR was a social democrat, he saved capitalism through social programs and concessions from the rich. He also gutted the power of unions to fight capital with the NLRB.
After that came the red scare that ensured the rule of the rich over the working class wouldn't be threatened for generations.
