The 30 Days of Night film seems very under appreciated and/or underrated to me. Granted, i have no evidence to proof of disprove that. it's just a hunch.

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #2,417,139!
Awesome! Thank you for the recommendation. I’ll put them at the top of my “to-read” queue. 👍🏼
+1 to Unknown Armies! It’s one of my favorite RPGs.
I haven’t read Tim Powers yet. I wonder if reading his work will change the way I approach UA. (I lean heavy on its crime fiction and absurd influences.)
Nice! S&WCR is my favorite retro-clone. I like it because it walks that really fine line between OD&D and AD&D. It’s OD&D with some cool stuff from AD&D.
Reminder:
Cairn 2e, Shadowdark, Knave2e, Dragonbane all present great alternatives to "the named" dragon game
Along with a huge host of others, made by 1-4 individuals each, that could use your support !
lol. I could tell that you were speaking more figuratively than literally. 😉
I take every opportunity i can get to praise AW. So I totally get it! 👍🏼
AW taught me a lot about running and playing games. It still influences how I approach new campaigns.
TWO DAYS REMAIN.

I’ve played #odnd 5 times in the last 3 months. It’s the best gaming I’ve done in decade. #ttrpg #dungeonsanddragons
No. I’m more interested in playing AD&D and D&D Basic/Expert at the moment.
I’m going to start posting here again.
I'm sad to see reports that James M. Ward died today. I met Jim back was I was in high school and he was helping run TSR's creative wing in the mid-'80s. He was a legendary game designer even then, writer of classics like DEITIES & DEMIGODS, METAMORPHOSIS ALPHA, and GAMMA WORLD.
Cairn Second Edition: coming to Kickstarter March 27th @ 10 AM EST
It's official: the CAIRN 2E Boxset is launching on Kickstarter March 27th! Please join us in starting the hype train for Space Penguin's very first crowdfunding effort, and watch this page throughout the week as we slowly reveal WHAT'S IN THE BOX.
I didn’t do #Dungeon23 either. I think mega-dungeons are cool, but I didn’t feel inspired to create one.
I’m running an oD&D campaign in the very near future. So #Lore24 is right up my alley. 🧑🏻🦱
Screenshot from an ENWorld post by user Yora titled "#Lore24 - Worldbuilding in 366 Entries" that says: "Dungeon23 seems to have been quite a big success and popular with a good number of people. But making a dungeon room every day for a full year isn't for everyone's style of running campaigns, so some of us on Mastodon have come up with Lore24. Writing a short description of one thing that is part of a growing campaign setting every day for all of 2024. The main goal and purpose of the whole thing is to get practice and making a habit of getting general ideas for worldbuilding down into text, one item at a time. I have found that very often, putting an idea into words that are understandable to others makes it become much more real, and I often discover new details while I am writing, which in turn can inspire new things that could or should exist somewhere in the world." Part 1 of 3
Part 2 of the continued ENWorld post by Yora, it says: "The things to write about every day can be anything that exists in or is in some way part of the world. Could be a place, could be a person. Could be a creature, an organization, a spell, an event, a technology, a custom, and whatever else you could think of. They can be as long or brief as it seems appropriate to get the idea across properly, and as how much time you want to spend on it. They don't need to be completely new ideas either. Anything that you might have decided to put into a campaign some day but never gotten around to actually fully detail will be just as good for an entry." Part 2 of 3
Final ENWorld post by Yora, it says: "Since all good worldbuilding depends very much on all the different pieces interacting with each other in complex relationships, I think nobody should feel compelled to treat every entry that is written as a now established hard fact of the world that you are stuck with, whether you want to or not. If you want to write about something that conflicts with a previous entry or invalidates it completely, I really wouldn't worry about that. Getting practice should be the main goal, not producing anything resembling a finished product. If by the end of the year, or even just after two or three months, you have produced a heap of entries of which you want to use maybe a third or a quarter in a future, I would consider this a great success and entirely within the spirit of this undertaking. It's all about getting creative, and that more often than not means trying out lots of things and finding which of them you like best." Part 3 of 3
I have decided that I will be participating in #Lore24, the sequel to #Dungeon23 which I did not take part in for 2 reasons: A) can't draw & B) not a big fan of mega-dungeons.
I hope more TTRPG 🎲 folks on Bluesky join with me on this!
Gonna start tomorrow with a double entry cause it's late lol
I started prepping for my next rpg campaign.
B2: Keep on the Borderlands using Old School Essentials Advanced Fantasy.
I’ve made a bunch of changes to it to make it grimmer, weirder, and more complex.
I’ll blog about it soon!

Picture of Every Man For Himself and God Against All by Werner Herzog
I’ve invited Werner Herzog to into my consciousness. I have 60 pages left to finish the book. It’s been quite a journey so far.
