This New Year's I dedicated myself to actually completing #Dungeon23. I didn't attempt it at all three years ago and made it about four months after restarting a few times, but this time I have a solid plan. I'll probably write a post each month detailing my progress

I wonder if I'll ever go back to The Bottomless Pit, my #dungeon23 dungeon I never finished where time moves faster the deeper you go.
It was a big hole in the ground with smaller dungeons branching off from it, seemingly pulled from all over the world.

A half-finished blog post citing influence from Eureka's Castle
Long ago, in the confluence of history and mythology, a conquering giant declared himself the king of kings—the Emperor of the Wide World. He gathered to himself four treasures: a sword that could defeat any weapon, a coin that could pay for anything, a cup that granted immortality, and a wand that opened doors in thin air. In this time, it was widely considered that a certain dwarf named Taitale was the smartest person alive. The Emperor of the Wide World commissioned Taitale to build him a castle peopled entirely by mechanical golem guardians to hide these four treasures. It was called the Castle Automatic. Then, the Emperor placed Taitale in the Castle so that she would never tell anybody how to defeat its many traps and puzzles; a prisoner in a prison of her own creation. Attempting to free his mother, Taitale's son meddled with forces beyond his understanding, playing a discordant melody not meant for mortal minds. Vampiric spirits from the far realms rushed into the world, eager for their fill of blood. The Emperor was overthrown and the mechanisms that controlled the Castle Automatic were broken. For an age, the Castle Automatic has been lost in the Underworld. But now, its gates have been reopened…perhaps by His Majesty the Worm?
I was in my blog drafts this morning and found a post from 2016 that clearly was the beginning of the CASTLE AUTOMATIC project (later built out by #dungeon23 and then revised into a full megadungeon, coming soon!)
Look at the first scrap and compare it to the intro blurb of the completed one

Love to see that it has continued to carry over since then. It is a fantastic writing exercise, and gives any Game Referee good practice in creating new material for our Fantasy worlds.
