I love XO Treatment Room’s skincare products (I use their Stellar Strata moisturizer) — a touch pricey, but not exorbitant, and all the XO brand products are compounded right in Calgary. For a tinted moisturizer, I like It Cosmetics cc cream (also contains SPF which us garden gals need plenty of!)

The covers of three books. Left to right: Gandolfini: Jim, Tony, and the life of a legend, about the late Sopranos actor. The cover shows Gandolfini looking shy, peering offscreen with one unobstructed eye and another that peeks out between the fingers of his right hand. CENTER: The cover of Cinema Her Way, a coffee table book by Marya E. Gates about female directors. On the cover is actress Michelle Rodriguez as the boxer heroine of Karyn Kusama's sports drama Girlfight, about a woman boxer. RIGHT David Hockney's painting collection The Arrival of Spring in Normandy, showing a painting of a verdant field. In the background of the field is green grass. in the upper foreground are the branches of a tree sprouting white, cottony buds.
A screenshot of the pre-orders section at mzs.press. Three screenshots of books that have not yet been released. CENTER The cover of The Ring Cycle, Matt Zoller Seitz and Odie Henderson's book on the Rocky and Creed films. The cover is white except for a pair of black boxing gloves floating there RIGHT The cover of Documentary Now!, the 600-page, 7-pound coffee table book celebrating the aforementioned IFC Channel series parodying classic documentaries.
Screenshot of three books carried at mzs.press arts bookstore: LEFT: Cover of Lead Sister, a biography of Karen Carpenter, featuring a closeup of Carpenter playing and singing with The Carpenters. Greetings, new friends! You may know me as an author, a prolific Bluesky poster and 4th place finisher on So You Call That Dancing? But you might not know that my partner Judith (@mzpress) and I have an online arts bookstore that's growing every day. Full inventory here: mzs.press/EVERYTHING-W...
I grew up doing speech arts 🤓 and performed one of the passages from A Midsummer Night’s Dream — “over hill / over dale / through bush / through brier” — so I’ve always been partial to it, along with Twelfth Night. I miss Shakespeare in the Park in yyc!
My kid is in a local theatre group that exclusively does G&S productions. First year was The Gondoliers, then The McAdo (the Mikado with a cultural reset in Scotland) and this year they are doing Patience. The kids are so hilarious and over the top and it’s perfect.

The Remarkable Life Deck, designed by the iconic Debbie Millman, has been unboxed and the vibrant journal, manual and card deck are sitting on a table with a yellow patterned tablecloth and lit candles.
Captured this magical moment under the full moon last night 🌕
I have coveted The Remarkable Life Deck by the iconic @debbiemillman.bsky.social for ages and diving into it at this moment has been a beautiful experience. I actively sense myself shedding despair and manifesting hope.
Thank you DM ✨
Safety in Sport Act was allegedly about protecting girls from transgender girls in contact sports and so that girls could prosper in elite (or elite pathway) sports. None of that applies in this case. The purpose is hate against transgender people.
post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, or Alice In Chains.

A sunny summer backyard garden with a wooden raised bed full of green veggies in the foreground. A second box with a trellis of climbing peas and a perennial garden of greens, pinks, and purples span the corner. A glimpse of a child’s playhouse cedar wall with a white antique paned glass window is in the background.
The days are getting increasingly short, there’s a bitterness in the air and I’m already longing for next summer’s garden.
Congratulations! ❤️
"It’s not just about transgender people...They want to take over politics. They want to take over education. They want to reclaim the family—it’s white Christian patriarchal supremacy. So that’s bad for everyone, except for the few alpha males who get to be at the top of it." #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli
Our family loved the Frog & Toad series, Beverly Cleary series (Ramona etc.), The Peter Rabbit Collection, plus some of Roald Dahl (Fantastic Mr. Fox was a fave).
@katcalgary.bsky.social 👀
Thank you for sharing your perspective, Ann. Much appreciated!
Following the Ward 1 public trustee debate I’m even more confused about this endorsement. Ms Hart seems very inexperienced compared to others’ w/ education governance experience (eg. Regal). Tagging two knowledgeable Calgarians for your perspective, pls @hollyhoye.bsky.social @missgiven.bsky.social
This is so true, especially if you grew up in Calgary! I always say there’s one degree of separation here (not 6).
As a Ward 1 resident, I am curious about this endorsement as Ms Hart seems to have less experience in educational governance than at least two other seemingly progressive candidates (Regal and Doell). Can you please provide more context as to why Calgary’s Future has chosen Ms Hart over others?
You could check out the BUMP Murals around town (self guided or walking tour). Hit up shops and eateries in Inglewood, Bridgeland, 17th Ave. My faves include pints at the Ship & Anchor or Central Taps, burgers at Class Clown, cocktails at Proof or Prosperity + plant-forward eats at 10 Foot Henry!
A basket of fresh garden produce including white potatoes, red cherry tomatoes, orange carrots and green and yellow beans.
Love a harvest day. 🌱
Do referendums generate respectful debate, genuine dialogue, and valid outcomes the way Danielle Smith suggests?
Seldom, if ever.
In my debate with Ted Morton, I showed how they’re often a politician’s tool of convenience—and often backfire. 🧵

"Calgary needs more trees—let's plant them!"
We agree! And we love being a part of a community that cares in this way. Thank you Calgary Climate Hub and Alberta Ecotrust Foundation for creating such a great resource!
We can't wait to see the change it brings.
Hey, as a librarian I need to tell you:
Our funding depends on usage.
So go ahead and check out that book even if you don't think you'll finish it. No one will know. Check out that DVD even though you might not like it. Get ambitious in your quest for knowledge.
Welcome to Calgary! Can’t wait for your set tonight. ✨
Despite the rain, my entire family is so stoked to see @thebandcake.bsky.social tonight at @calgaryfolkfest.bsky.social. A perfect choice to close out a magical festival weekend. Our dream set list includes Never There, Love You Madly, Sad Songs & Waltzes, and - a cover - War Pigs to honour Ozzy.🤘
A large, coral coloured peony bloom with a lovely yellow-orange centre, featured on a background of peony foliage and buds.
Finally it’s #peony season here in zone 3! I found this stunner in our neighbourhood botanical gardens.
So true! Much needed and very appreciated. Your work always makes me smile. Thank you and congrats! Can’t wait to see one of the buses IRL.
These are great @calgaryhester.bsky.social! Love your fun and optimistic style. 🙌🏻
Cool find! I was at this show to see the opener - Spiritualized - and ended up a Radiohead fan.
