Covid is the priority. Not long Covid. We need to stop Covid. Long covid isn’t the reason all spaces are unsafe. Long covid isn’t the reason for hospital outbreaks and healthcare being unsafe to access. Covid is the reason. Covid is the problem. The results are many.

Posts talking about long Covid awareness but also that it’s six years into the pandemic just add to the confusion and minimizing. Long covid isn’t the pandemic. We need to stop pandemic spread. We need to protect the vulnerable. Long covid survivors are also the vulnerable!

We need to give survivors support but not by sending them back into danger. Sure, sometimes there’s mention of repeat infections when talking about long Covid. Language matters. All long Covid cases come from COVID infections.

We're not talking about rebuilding Ukraine before ending the war. Think about how lambasted someone would get for talking about rebuilding Gaza while they were still getting bombed (wait, didn't Trump do that).

Not that it has continued to spread, disable and kill every year with severe levels of spread in recent years. We're not in a better place. The focus needs to be on COVID now. You’re taking up all the air (pun intended) of us talking about the need to do more to stop spread. To end the pandemic.

Every time you talk about long Covid you are leading ppl to believe the pandemic is in the past. That it's some illness a bunch of ppl are suffering with since that bad period back in 2021.

We're all connected and affected by each other's actions. The continued spread of COVID is the problem. Long Covid is the result. We need to do more to stop the spread and that means telling people it's a crisis that affects them. That is STILL affecting all of us. Long Covid survivors and more.

But that's so easy for you because then you don't have to stop doing whatever you want and everyone else is like "oh yeah poor them over there they need support but I don't have to change my own behaviour". It's not the same.
