Walked to our local public Gardens yesterday and either side of the long driveway there were bluebells flowering with plenty more to come. The
bluebells selected below line the border along our driveway.

Out for a walk and following our usual track when we saw this new bridge across the river to the walking track on the opposite bank. A welcome addition to the woodland walking trails.

This is good example of the skill of dry stone walling. It’s unusual because most dry stone walls have the stones laid horizontally. This was at the end of a farm track where it joined the road. I photographed it on Inis Orr one of the Aran Islands.

In this year’s St.Patrick’s Day parade in our town was this carefully looked after Ford Consul. Launched in 1951 the later models were noted for the introduction of an inward sloping rear window. It became a popular family car.

A ‘Jaunty Cart’ taking visitors to Innis Orr, the smallest of the Aran Islands, on a tour. Innis Orr is the closest of the Aran group to the west coast of Ireland and has wonderful landscape views. It is accessible by ferry from Doolin.

Okay, well, perhaps ‘palaces’ is a slight exaggeration, but these rudbeckia was in the gardens of a castle - so reasonably close. Notwithstanding they are brightly coloured and eye catching.

What is it about bluebells? I just love them. It’s a sign that Spring is underway and it somehow cheers you up.

Early evening on the West coast of Ireland and a large number of starlings - apparently known in Ireland as ‘druids’- gather on the power lines and chatter noisily, possibly exchanging information about food sources.

Riding this long waterfall in Alaska to experience a float experience down the rapids on the Mendenhall river on a “Yellow Banana,” was cramped and uncomfortable, but thrilling. It felt like surfing a 2 km waterfall.

The tide was out a very long way leaving this beach close exposed.

This beach is close to Doonbeg in County Clare on the West Coast of Ireland. Across the bay you may be able to see the remains of a castle on the harbouraide at Doonbeg.
