Okay, well, perhaps ‘palaces’ is a slight exaggeration, but these rudbeckia was in the gardens of a castle - so reasonably close. Notwithstanding they are brightly coloured and eye catching.

Not sure where I saw this knotted ‘rope’, but I just liked it as a sort of minimalist image.

#SmallBirdSaturday

Early evening on the West coast of Ireland and a large number of starlings - apparently known in Ireland as ‘druids’- gather on the power lines and chatter noisily, possibly exchanging information about food sources.

Riding this long waterfall in Alaska to experience a float experience down the rapids on the Mendenhall river on a “Yellow Banana,” was cramped and uncomfortable, but thrilling. It felt like surfing a 2 km waterfall.

#TidesOutTuesday

The tide was out a very long way leaving this beach close exposed.

This beach is close to Doonbeg in County Clare on the West Coast of Ireland. Across the bay you may be able to see the remains of a castle on the harbouraide at Doonbeg.

On the edge of the Burren close to Fanor on Ireland’s west coast. There are plenty of rocks in the river here and it’s possible some are hundreds - if not thousands - of years old.
